It wasn't a common occurrence, not by a long shot, but once in a while, Mac really lost her shit with some people. Especially idiotic little grunts that got up in her space and pissed about with her stuff. Watching the young soldiers skulk away from Mac and the garage like they'd been reprimanded suitably John can't help but smile and chuckle, pausing in his stroll to call over to Mac.
"I'd pay to see you shove a carburettor anywhere like that Mac but I'm not sure the team or the Captain would appreciate it much." As much as he might be teasing John understands that those non-mutant soldiers can be rather over eager and push the limits at times. Hell John's seen enough camps to know some of the antics those kids can get up to.

"I could teleport him, though I don't reckon the Captain or General would be too pleased. An' what have you got again Utah anyway?" Still he's wincing at the comment regarding the soldier's damage to Mac's work, John rolls up his sleeves. "I ain't much of a mechanic but I can pass tools an' fetch coffee if you'd like assistance of some sort. I know it ain't gonna reverse the damage but it's all I can offer... and if I mess it up any more I'll teleport the kid to Utah."

"You know the difference between a crowbar and a screwdriver? Because if you do, you pass the test and you can come and help." For some reason, people seemed to think Mac could live on air alone and that her garage needed to have twelve cars, a jeep and part of an aeroplane crammed inside before she'd have enough work for the day.
"Mind your toes though."

"I can sure as hell tell the difference between those two an' can get you a Robertson, a Pozidriv, a Mortorq or a Torq-set without havin' to ask you to describe which is which to me too. Though beyond that I get myself a little lot." John knew that more often than not the military asked and expected more than people could offer. He'd seen from afar that Mac spent most of her days holed up in the garage and working hard.
"Lead the way."
