Testing the water [OTA]

Everyday life at the base was still as boring as ever, not even the news that they could possibly leave to head for that small town could cheer Liv up. She still wasn't sure if that deal applied to prisoners like her, especially since running away was oh so tempting. Then again, they wouldn't just let her go and being on the run wasn't worth it. Or getting shot. She'd like to avoid that at all costs, thank you very much.

The concept of cabin fever was something she was aware of, but until now she had only read about it. Another trip to the mess hall for coffee first thing in the morning before heading to the gym had her feeling like she would punch the next person who'd so much as talk to her. Maybe look at her wrong if she was lucky. For now the fear of being locked up in a small room again was winning, and so she backed out of the gym when she saw a few people in there. Without really paying attention to where she was headed she found herself standing in front of the pool moments later.

Without thinking twice she put down her coffee on the side and stripped down to her underwear before jumping in head first. Blue polka dot hotpants with a matching bra, it was better than being completely naked and didn't look any different than a bikini would have-she didn't own one anyway. She'd deal with problems later, if there should be any. For now she had something to do, something she hadn't done every day for the past...too many days.
