Nothing ever as it seems; for icecoldwit

As amusing as it was to watch Jack spit and grit at the poor Pyrogenetic, Atticus had seen enough. Really, he'd seen it all already from the hunter. The scenario was nothing new. But the whole ordeal did strike him as bothersome. The thought in mind, he slipped from the room just as easily, and intangible, as he had entered. Confident that Hope could handle herself, and Jack, should he decide to lose what little rods of steel were keeping his brain together.

When he was halfway across the compound Atticus retained his visibility, earning a surprised gasp or two from two of the guards standing watch outside Emma's office. Really, by now they should have been used to such things. But it was never boring around here. He ignore them and entered the building. Of course he paused politely at her door and gave a courteous knock.

"Miss Frost? Do you have a moment?"
