When consciousness finally returned, the heavy weight of drugs no longer keeping her out, Mac found herself lying in the medical center. Her head was pounding a solid beat, her wrists throbbed and her memory was just a little foggy. She remembered enough to know that some idiots had broken on to base, and then...
Her wrists were tapped up, and the pain meant they'd been chaffed somehow, probably whatever had been used to restrain her. Her head was sore in more ways than one and raising a hand to her head, refusing to acknowledge that her hand was shaking, Mac found a gauze strip around her head as well.
Great, that meant she'd taken a head wound, which meant mandatory stay in the med center and no work for the next seventy two hours. She could've done without that. Maybe Ethan would keep her company, or she'd hang out with Shar Pei while Sykes got the assholes that did the stupid stunt and then she'd get to watch Ethan in protective mode.
Now all she had to do was sit around and wait for a Nurse or the Captain to pay her a visit. And hopefully later convince someone to get her some jello from the Chef.
