Where most others in camp who had inhaled the drugs pumped through the ventialtion system last night were having a less extreme reaction to the chemical compound Ethan was struggling. You see the thing is he's a man who is excellent at keeping his emotions in check and putting on that cool, calm facade to everyone else and then going to the gym and ( Read more... )

Noting that he had company, respectful company at that too, Ethan lowered his fists but continued to glare at the tree. He wasn't even out of breath, which most normal men or soldiers would be after that display of anger against the tree.

Glancing at Christoffel he finally acknowledged her presence with more than just the halting of his actions. "I was merely utilising the resources available to me Christoffel. It was either that or a living and breathing person which would be highly inappropriate."

Tone gruff and posture still tense at least Ethan was talking rather than just hitting out.

"Yes. Thank you for that observation Christoffel. Was there anything else that you wanted to point out to me?" Okay now she was starting to remind him just why he had been taking his anger out on a tree rather than some innocent passing persons face. It didn't matter how calm and level her tone was, Ethan was angry as a can of rattlesnakes over an open fire.

"My hands are fine anyway." Ethan raised one arm to show that he had not been harmed at all from his temper tantrum. Infact it looked as if nothing had gone on. "I just didn't want to have to damage equipment qithout justifiable cause."

Why he was explaining himself to Christoffel was still an area of puzzlement for the Captain too. At least she was getting him to talk first rather than act first.

"Good. Sounds like an excellent plan." Ethan rolled his shoulders, he really didn't need any more encouragement than that with the mood he was in. He needed to find a way to burn off this energy that seemed to have come from nowhere and thrummed its way through his blood.

Settling into a fighting stance Ethan beckoned at Christoffel curious to see how she would start her attack. Did she take a defensive or offensive approach. Did she look for a sign of weakness or create one? Would she push herself from the get go or wait to see what Ethan could do? Every question and many more echoed around Ethan's mind as he watched her carefully.

The use of mutation was an added thrill for Ethan, he didn't often get to really let loose with his powers unless it was in a controlled environment. When Christoffel phased through him Ethan stumbled forward in surprise and continued with the momentum when her foot collided with his back.

However, his mutation was kicking into play and with the ease of a professional he dropped and rolled forward before turning once more to face Christoffel. The kick hadn't even hurt because his durability had kicked in, yet it was going to need to be at it's highest to ensure her moves didn't get through.

"That the best you can do?"

Normally? That kind of cheap, low blow of a tactic didn't work on Ethan but with his mind the way it was and the chemicals thrumming through his body it instead riled him. The jibe enough to make him ignore all common sense and go in for the attack, rather than waiting and seeing.

"Watch what you say." He might well be acting out of character, but that doesn't mean he is any weaker. If anything Ethan is willing to push his mutation further as he throws himself at Christoffel with the speed and agility of the billion dollar man.

He catches her low and around the waist, though whether he genuinely has a grip on her is to be seen.
