The whiplash from her headache had finally filtered away, making Emma feel a touch more human. Even if she wasn't a hundred percent, she was definitely more herself, less stand-offish for no reason and less locked down. Keeping tabs on Rictor was important, even if he was spending certain evenings on the roof smoking and it wasn't really the safest thing in the world she didn't mention it since he seemed more relaxed afterwards.

Heading from the mess hall towards the training centre, coffee cup in hand, Emma had a gap for once in all the paper work she was constantly buried in, along with the ridiculous demands from Stone about equality in the two bases. It would probably mean that actually getting some time to exercise would help her relax slightly.

The walk from the mess hall to the training centre was blissfully quiet, and Emma kept her shields closed down purely because she was enjoying the quiet. It meant she really didn't know too much about what was going on around her.
