Falling into routine following his arrival to the camp in Washington, it hadn't been hard. Not at all, and maybe that should've worried him a little. He'd been told by Miss Frost, the angel that she was, that he had much more freedom than he'd hear the others had. It wasn't that he was getting special treatment, it was just that he was here for another purpose.
Although the possibility of learning how to better control his ability was promising. The fact that Miss Frost -Emma, she'd said he could call her, was going to oversee that personally, it was a little daunting. Spencer was still holding on to Rictor's advice that he just needed to be honest, that much he could do. Honesty with attractive, strong willed, powerful females wasn't something he stumbled through.
Entering the mess hall, noting that it was mostly empty, Spencer went about getting some coffee and a bagel before considering approaching a young man staring at a cake in front of him. Steeling himself, Spencer went for it and approached, "What's with the cake?"
Looking up at the new face, St John frowned slightly before shrugging. "Stupid joke from a stupid chick." And if Mac heard that he'd called her stupid he'd probably get his ear whapped. "She's a little loose in the head."
St John wasn't exactly about to explain it all to this guy flat out -maybe it was obvious with the candle in the cake and stuff, but St John wasn't sure if people would jump to the birthday conclusion too, or if he could still smooth this under the carpet.
"You just get dumped here or something?" Subtle topic change or not, St John went with it.
Taking that as a sort of permission, Spencer took the seat opposite the other male and placed his coffee and bagel on the table, "Um, something like that. A few days ago, came in pretty early." He had already figured out that there were a good few people there that didn't want to be there.
This young man, not quiet a boy but still young looking despite the unshaven look, probably didn't want to be there. Or he had a default 'pissed off' expression with a side of bored.
"I'm Spencer Trip. I suppose I've been pulled in to be the publicity for this place."
