Most of the time, Rogue could handle what her powers did. In the space of a few hours, things would filter out and feel more like a dream than anything else. Memories sometimes lingered, depending on the severity of the transfer. The claws had finally gone away, although Rogue was constantly itching the inside of her wrist where the bone had ( Read more... )

Reports filed away, emails sent and messages passed to the appropriate people Ethan then took it upon himself to find Darkholme and check up on her. He had made a point of reading up on her mutation, familiarising himself with exactly what it meant when she touched someone and knew immediately that he needed to speak to her. To draw on the knowledge she had access to whilst he still could.

Dressed in sweat pants and a tank shirt Ethan's got a pair of boxing gloves slung over one shoulder and a towel on the other as he enters the gym. He doesn't approach Darkholme at first, instead choosing to use the open space to stretch and warm up his muscles.

Finally he moves to lean against the treadmill nearest to Darkholme and hold out an energy drink. "I take it that Richter got you to the Med Bay to be checked out?"

She couldn't help but notice him; it wasn't quiet smelling him, not anymore, that had worn off a short while before. But there was still that sense of just knowing. Although she hadn't said anything when he entered, or even when he'd started to warm up, Rogue had kept a little bit of attention on him.

When he spoke, she turned her attention to him, and his energy drink. "Yeah, though it wasn't really needed," since Daken healed her perfectly, "an' thanks, but if Ah drink that Ah'll be twitching like a hangman on a noose." She didn't do well with concentrated caffeine, something to do with her metabolism.

"Y' ain't just askin' 'bout mah welfare though, cause Ah know y' probably got a report on mah visit with the nurse."

She was a smart woman, something Ethan had a lot of admiration for and that meant he really didn't mind the fact that Darkholme had seen through his ruse. "No, no I'm not but it seemed the polite way to start the conversation."

Setting the energy drink down Ethan gestured over to the area sectioned off as open space. "How do you feel about sparring? I know already that you are far stronger than you let on but trust me when I say I'm not worried about you hurting me. Might help to get rid of some of that excess energy and we can discuss what I really came to you to talk about."

There was little point in beating about the bush now, if Darkholme was able to see through his friendly routine he might as well get to the real issue at hand. She even got a genuine smile this time too.

Sparing a glance at the open area, Rogue looked down at her hands, currently gloved. She'd made sure to cover herself, she always did, unless she knew she wouldn't be around people. "Y' sure 'bout that? Ah really am far stronger." Like beyond measure. Although it was a good thought.

She hadn't given the boxing equipment a second glance, nor had she gone towards the punching bag, because if she really had tried to work off any aggression, she'd have destroyed the equipment instantly. In Africa she demolished trees, in Russia she flew for miles. Now, well, now they'd get pissed if she broke their base.

"What makes y' think Ah won't break ya?" And this was a subtle way for Rogue to find out just what it was Ethan could do.
