Locked in a cage *OTA, nudge to family members*

The first sensation Daken realized when he groggily woke up was feeling cold. His shirt had been shredded in the fight with Logan and the girl with the white stripes in her hair, and he doubted if his enemies had been courteous enough to replace it. His last memory had been of claws at his throat and fingers on his forehead. Just what had that girl ( Read more... )

The growing number of team members who had taken it upon themselves to come and visit this Daken individual was steadily growing. It both annoyed and frustrated Ethan that they seemed to think he wouldn't know that they'd come up here. For goodness sakes, this was the brig after all and of course there were security cameras monitoring the area. Idiots ( ... )

There were exactly 1,867 flyspecks on the ceiling. He knew the exact number because Daken had counted them all. Twice. His attempts to try and get out of his manacles had only served to dislocate one of his arms at the shoulder. It had hurt like a bitch before healing up, but the experience had served quiet Daken back down.

When Ethan's face appeared at the cell door, Daken only registered it in the back of his mind. Just another one come to stare the big bad mutant locked away. Then the door opened and Ethan came inside. Huh. That was a new trick.

This had to be one of those higher on the food chain, maybe even the one in charge. Seeing as how he was the one who would be deciding his fate, Daken decided cutting some of his attitude out might be wise. He nodded at the offer of a cigarette. "Sure."

Reaching into his jacket pocket Ethan pulls out a packet of cigarettes, he doesn't smoke anymore but he knows that in the army these things are like currency. Tapping one out he holds it close enough to Daken to take between his lips, a display of just how unconcerned he is with getting too close to Daken, before retrieving his lighter.

Once the cigarette is lit and the items placed to once side on the bench Ethan sets down a bottle of energy drink beside him as well. To anyone else it would seem that Ethan's demeanour is calm, easy going like this is just a casual chat between friends but Daken will be atune to the style of interrogation and conversation. "An assassin sent by the Japanese government to eliminate Richter for his involvement in the earthquakes that devestated Japan."

It's not a question, more of a statement but the next part is aimed to see if there's going to be a response from Daken. "I'm not sure they'll be too impressed to hear you've gotten yourself locked up and are revealing their secrets so easily. Do you?"

Daken took the cigarette from Ethan, noting the man's apparent confidence. It was difficult to smoke without the use of his hands, but he would make do. It just required a little more dexterity of the mouth than Daken was used to.

Daken moved the cigarette to a corner of his mouth so he could speak more easily. "So you were listening to that conversation I had with the older guy earlier." He had suspected as much at the time, but that hadn't stopped him from chatting. Daken didn't bother to confirm the Captain's statement. They both already knew it was the truth.

He inhaled, smoke curling out from his mouth as the feral answered. "Does it matter? If I go back to them, they'll assume as much. At least if I cooperate, there's an outside chance I don't rot in a cell for the rest of my life."

Reaching out Ethan took the cigarette and tapped off the excess ash before returning it to the corner of Daken's mouth. Much like Daken didn't bother to confirm his position Ethan didn't bother to confirm or deny that he's been listening it.

It was a brig on an army base, to not listen in would be foolish. Though Ethan is a little bit surprised that Daken seems so willing to negotiate so quickly, actually he's a little bit put off by the way that the soldier is resigned to his fate.

"What makes you think I'm willing to even consider letting you out of a cell and seeing daylight again anytime soon?" After a comment like that some people would let their suspect have a moment to think but Ethan knew better. Grabbing the bottle of energy drink Ethan holds it up. "Thirsty?"

The mutant spoke around another mouthful of cigarette. He was becoming quite adept at it. "I'm one of the few people on this base that knows how to fight worth a crap. I've seen enough of your squad to know you've got a handful of good fighters and a whole lot of nothing else. You need someone like me whether you want to admit it or not." Daken liked to act like he was filled with nothing but anger and rebellion, but he was still a shrewd and observant killer. He knew which buttons to push with the good Captain.

"Besides, if you don't let me out, I'll find a way. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not in five years. But I'll get out, and when I do, I'll track down everyone in this camp, starting with you." Daken didn't think Ethan would take that threat seriously, if he considered it at all. But Daken meant every word he said, for he never issued threats, only warnings.

He looked at the energy drink warily. Not having use of his hands had left him feeling helpless enough as it was. "Got a straw?"

Interesting. Ethan was impressed that Daken seemed to have made a fair observation but that still didn't mean he was going to be any more lenient towards the mutant. As far as the Captain was concerned Daken had broken into the camp and attemtped to kill one of the team and that deserved punishment. "Fair point, but that's why they've been brought to me."

Contemplating the statement/threat/warning or whatever you wanted to call it over Ethan smiled indulgently at the feral as he rummaged in his jacket pockets for a straw. He didn't have one which was frustrating but that was fine; leaving the cell Ethan returned few moments later with a pass card and key. Waiting till the cell door was firmly shut behind him he slid the card into the wall and then moved over to unlock Daken's manacles.

Stepping back he didn't seem at all concerned that the feral was now able to move freely. "You can use the bathroom whilst you're free." Ethan though remained standing by the bench, shoulder resting against the wall.

A snort cut through Ethan's remark. Daken's voice dripped with cynicism. "If you can do anything with that kook that was in here earlier talking in rhymes and calling herself Ophelia, you've gone past the level of superhuman and straight into Jesus and Gandhi territory."

He figured the interrogation wasn't over when Ethan stepped out for a moment. Seeing the key in his hand was a surprise when he return was a surprise, even more so when he unlocked his manacles. Daken took a moment as the blood rushed back into his arms, the painful pins and needles feeling retreating as he got his hands in working order again.

First thing he did once his hands were back to normal was to scratch an itch on his neck which had steadily been driving him one step closer to madness. "I don't know what game you're playing, soldier boy, but that was a very stupid move." His claws were unleashed with a snikt! and Daken leapt forward, intent on stabbing Ethan in the chest.

Ah yes, Ophelia was a curious individual and Ethan had been close to getting her sectioned under the mental health act but Emma had pointed out that actually she was a very powerful mutant who, with a little guidance, could be brought to task. Better to keep those types close she had said.

Nothing changes about Ethan's outward appearance when his mutation kicks in, you have to try and hurt him to find out just how durable his skin has become. Daken's claws will have connected with his body and then been sent skittering off to the side, like trying to break a reinforced wall of steel with a pencil. Ethan's body can't be damaged when he allows his powers to kick in, thank goodness, so that would explain the ever so slightly cocky attitude from him.

Raising his hands Ethan grasps at Daken's wrists and glares at him, tone still level and giving the illusion that all is calm. "I think you'll find actually that was a very stupid move. Now. Sit. Down. Before I make you."

Daken could feel the blow go all the way up his arm as when it connected with Ethan's body. But instead of going through him, as his claws were supposed to, they stopped, scraping against the skin as if they had run into a brick wall.

Before he could try for another blow, he found his wrists held in a grasp every bit as snug as his manacles had been. He struggled furiously for a few seconds before glaring up at Ethan. "No one ever makes me do anything." He wouldn't quit, not until he was down or Ethan was. He aimed one knee at Ethan's groin.

"That a fact now soldier?" Ethan might not be that much stronger than the feral, to be honest he's got the feeling that they are fairly evenly matched. However Ethan does have the advantage of being able to keep calm and not let his attitude get the better of him. Blocking the knee aimed at his groin Ethan drops his weight to the right trying to drag Daken to the floor of the cell.

"Don't make this harder than it has to be kid."

"I'm no soldier. I'm an animal." He was fighting a losing battle here. Between the confined space of the cell and Ethan's formidable mutation, Daken had very little working in his favor. In one last ditch effort, his claws came out as he resisted being dragged to the floor, jerking his arm out of Ethan's grasp.

They slashed wildly at Ethan's face, scraping over his features harmlessly. Daken didn't know if the eyes and mouth were protected like the rest of his body, so he aimed for those before he ended up face first on the cell floor. Burning up with anger, knowing he had lost, he lay still. Petty though it was, he let loose with a wave of pheromones, hoping to goad Ethan into some emotional response.

"Kid? That's a good one, coming from you." Daken knew he was old enough to be Ethan's father. Not that he ever bothered to act his age.

The thing with his mutation is that the more vulnerable parts of his body (eyes, ears and mouth) are still protected but it requires a little more concentration. Shifting out the way of the claws Ethan's not to lucky when it comes to catching his face on Daken's fists and boy, he knows he's going to be sporting a shiner for a day at least ( ... )

A snarl that was purely animal, starting deep in his chest and working its way up until it exploded out of his mouth was heard. Daken struggled futilely against Ethan's grip, twisting and writhing underneath him. He was pinned good and fast. Some of his frustration was carried over as he continued to use his pheromones. He felt confident in using them, for even his own government knew nothing about that part of his mutation.

The struggles ceased suddenly when Daken heard himself called by his true name. ".......what did you just call me?" He asked in an astonished voice. No one was supposed to know that. No one! It brought unwanted memories to the forefront of Daken's mind, the last being his renouncement of that name forever on what he considered to be worst night of his entire life.

The wave of pheromones is pretty potent and Ethan can feel his body responding to them, it's frustrating and a little distracting which is why Ethan doesn't respond to Daken's question at first. Instead he uses the sudden halt in the struggling to his advantage and hauls Daken up, getting at least one wrist restrained by the manacles.

"Akihiro. I called you Akihiro. That's your real name though isn't it? Not Daken." Ethan struggles to finally pin Daken's other wrist into place, snapping the manacle shut before he slumps onto the bench opposite. "You were born in Japan, your father commited suicide and you work for the Japanese Government. Care to find out what else I know?"

He keeps his mutation firmly in place though, body humming with energy and adrenaline from the fight. The bottle of energy drink laying discarded on the floor between them.

Daken wasn't so stunned that he didn't notice what Ethan was up to, but his struggles were futile as first one wrist and then the other were snapped back into the manacles. He was furious with himself. That was an opportunity for escape practically handed to him on a silver platter and he had wasted it.

"Call me that name again and you'll be missing a tongue." It was an idle threat but there was little else Daken could do. "I discarded it a long time ago." Still, he was placated somewhat as he listened. The way Ethan was spouting off the facts of Daken's life story showed he didn't know the whole story. "Not really, since what you know is fragmented and contradictory at the best."

As he talked, he reigned his pheromones back in and began focusing solely on making Ethan as lustful as possible, his own personal fuck you to the man who was currently being a pain in the ass to him.
