The sight of him made her do a double take. It couldn't be. There were obvious differences beyond the hair. Vance didn't have tattoos for another but the face was so similar Angel's heart leapt in her chest. She was walking before she even realized what she was doing.

Reality set in when she was only a few feet away. What was she going to say? Uh uh. Bad idea. She turned to leave when she realized that she walked right up to him staring the whole way. She couldn't just turn and leave. She'd look like a freak.

Not that she didn't look like a freak already.

Still, she turned back with an awkward smile. "...Hi."

"Hello,"Asher turned to look at her. He'd felt her staring but she hadn't seemed like she posed any kind of threat to him. He offered her a smile,"Something bothering you?"

He shifted still positioning himself to enjoy the feel of the sun.

"I... no. No! I'm fine. I just..."

In a moment of sheer honesty, she just drops to her knees in the grass next to him and confesses. "Actually, you look a lot like someone I used to know and I wasn't sure if you were him. Clearly, you're not him so I'm sorry if I came off as creepy. I'm..I'm usually not. I promise. I even blink on occasion. It's remarkable really." Then she chuckled weakly at her own joke.

"It's alright. I've gotten used to that actually all things considered,"he held out his hand to shake. "My name is Asher, Asher Banks."

He didn't mind the confusion with how long he'd lived he'd heard it many a time.

She smiled at his hand and took it, relaxing a bit. "Angelica Jones but everybody calls me Angel."

"Nice to meet you Angel,"he nodded letting go of her hand. "So what kind of crazy have you seen with the team so far?"

"Oh goodness," She started with a chuckle as she slid to sit more on her hip and prop herself up on one arm. "This is definitely the craziest team I've ever been with. Teammates fighting each other. Missions against Mr. Stryker to bust a new arrival out of the cells. Love triangles and squares and pentagons and dexigons..." And she laughs again. "I feel like I'm in a Spanish soap opera and I'm the only one that speaks English."

"Which is exactly why you haven't seen much of me. I just sit back and watch it all go crazy around me. No need to go getting myself into trouble with the rest of them,"he shook his head with a little grin. Asher had no plans to get himself hurt or killed in this place.

"That's probably smart. You're probably too normal for this place. So what did bring you here?" She asked a little nosy but they were getting to know each other, right?

"I needed something to do and I heard about this team. Though it wasn't quite this crazy when I first joined,"he shrugged. It was a little odd that boredom was his reason but it was the truth.

"Do you... I mean are you... like us?" She asked as gently as she could.

"You mean am I a mutant? Yes, I am. Not an obvious power but it's been fairly useful so far,"he smirked a bit.

"What can you do?"

"I am basically a leech." He looked over at her with a grin.

Angel's eyes went wide and she reflexively leaned back. "You can drain powers?"

He nodded,"In humans I can drain life force mutants it tends to be powers."
