Enough was enough. Wade had been cooked up for way too long with the same people, doing the same thing every god damn day. And now they weren't in Africa, and they weren't in Russia, but Japan. Merely miles away from Okinawa to be exact. This was his home field. This was where he'd gone to train to become a mercenary. And god dammit, he had to get

Glancing over her shoulders, eyes swirled in ways that were impossible for most people. She knew Wade would follow. It was just how he was and she'd have done the same thing if the situations were reversed. Not half way down the street places where the stone seemed to be melted where feet had been sunk in to the ground a good four or five inches along with hand prints, sections charred a constant shade of black. "My uncle died not a few feet from here. I'd never... used what I can do to hurt someone else before. There wasn't anything left of them and I was completely unconscious for over a week."

Wade watched her unusual behavior, following her slowly, taking in the odd environment. The mood had severely changed. If not in Alyssa's aura, the entire place. He could feel what she was talking about as she described it. What she was telling him was deep and meaningful but unfortunately he was inexperienced in how to respond. So for what seemed like the longest time he was silent. "...We can get that take out now if you want."

"The building is close to the entrance to Fushimi Inari shrine. Just up the road a couple of blocks." Quietly the woman started to move away from where they were standing. She just couldn't look at it any more. Reaching up, Alyssa lowered her sunglasses back over her eyes that had been perched on her head. "There's a little place just close by I used to go to when I couldn't sleep. If you're interested."

"Wherever you want. Lead the way."

Rounding a corner the woman lead him up a small hill towards an old style house not very far up. Quaint, and overlooking the entrance to the Shrine, it looked just like every other classical styled house in Kyoto except a smidge larger. "That's it. Home sweet home."

Cruel as it sounded Wade just didn't like her requesting that out of him. He hadn't known her long, not that it mattered, but it was most likely due to the fact that for some reason he didn't like it. Rousing from his thoughts ont he subject he looked up to observe the shrine. "Not bad."

"You just have to promise me you won't climb any of the trees in the backyard. I did that once before and he took a switch to me." Of course she had done it just to get the old man's goat so...

"So is your master here?" Wade was interested in meeting the one who trained her. Maybe they could tell him what happened to his own sensei.

Coming up to the front door she glanced about. Nothing had changed- which meant there was a key not far off. But instead she rang the bell waiting for a response. When none came the woman went looking for the key. Sure it was unexpected, but there were many times the woman dropped back 'home' form assignments or missions unannounced. "He may be out back or not. I just gotta find... here it is!" With a grin Lyssa held up the key in triumph allowing them entrance to the building. Quickly the woman removed her shoes before stepping inside. "Master Kenji? Hello?"
The layout of the house was simple, the design common to any period style homes in Kyoto. Two levels allowed for living spaces on the first and second floor while the first mostly housed the training room and kitchen. Out back a decent sized pond gave the perfect place for meditation or more extensive workouts. Lys glanced over her shoulder towards Wade motioning for him to come on inside. "He might have stepped down to the town on errands..."

He waited as she searched about, slipping his shoes off beside hers and then scooting inside. Now this was quite a place, and he immediately took to exploring it. "Think he'll mind?" Not that he cared of course, but again, for her sake.

It was way to quiet. To peaceful.
Somewhere above wherever Wade was at the floor squeaked. One of someone trying to be quiet and possibly had blown their cover.

Immediately he became still when he heard the floor above his head squeak. Wade frowned, closing his eyes for a moment before looking up at the ceiling, and then at Alyssa. Reaching up and behind the hem of his jacket and fluidly pulled out his tanto, twirling the blade along his fingers and into his hand. Wade was never unarmed. But he did wonder who was there and he had every intention of finding out.

Turning to move for the door was interrupted by the sounds of glass shattering throughout the residence. Without hesitating the woman was moving making a beeline for one of the swords lining the wall that had been so preciously set up on the shelving unit. Without her own she was going to need something.

Not a second passed before the men charged in and Lyssa picked up the dance rushing in to the fray swinging the blade in time with the turn of her body. Green fire lept from the where she had it concentrated burning clothing or flesh where the blade didn't cut. More people were filing in- not a challenge but something that was going to prove an annoyance. The woman didn't know what was going on. There was no reason for them to be followed as they left Okinawa or if anyone even knew they were in Japan. But if they did... Lys jumped high taking one of the assailants in the face with a booted foot. How were they going to get out of this?

Narrowly dodging an attack from one of the assailants, Wade put his smaller blade to use, moving to cut and stab his way back to Alyssa. The tanto wasn't going to cut it, he needed a sword. Returning the tanto to it's home, Wade lept back from more of the clothed figures that were closing in to get to the wall, unsheathing the nearest sword. Not wanting to waste any time with whoever these guys were he began to cut and hack his way back to his teammate as fast as his agility would allow.
"We've got to get out of here." He told her when he was close enough. An obviously thing, but, it was a major con for them to be surrounded inside a contained area.
