*El had been locked in the brig for a little over a month now. She had no idea when she’d be getting out, or if she even would. This left her with a lot of time on her hands. Time to think, to remember things she wish she could forget. All that kept running through her head was that last day, when she and Talia had thought they had made it. What she mainly remembered were the emotions, the rest was in too much of a blur. That giddy, naive feeling of happiness, swiftly replaced by anger, and then finally terror. But she could see the last bit in her mind perfectly. Talia, kneeling in the snow, her eyes flashing a signal to look away that El only understood far too late. The gunshot, the rapidly cooling corpse that had once been her friend lying in the snow.
She had thought it over in her mind over and over again. The idea was crazy, she knew it. There was a very likely possibly it wouldn’t work. But El had to try. She called a guard over to her cell. What she requested made the MP take a step back, wondering if he had heard her correctly.*
Please get the hunter for me.
