She was not a happy bunny. In fact, she was so not a happy bunny that she was dour. And she did not like being dour. Truth be told she could be less dour if she just used a little of that far too happy sweet she'd taken on Friday night from Allison and Manuel, but she didn't want to be happy right then. She was on a mission ( Read more... )

Overhearing an odd voice, Mortimer followed the source of it and came across an unusual sight. The girl, rhyming like a child no less, resembled some kind of fairy tale creature. He had not thought before that perhaps some mutants might literally bear similarity to pixies.

"All right, luv?"

She sat up at the voice, wondering if her top was speaking to her, before her eyes rested on the rather strange looking fellow. "Greetings there, sir, terribly sorry to intrude. She's lost her shirt, and got told off by Gertrude. It's a bit of a tizzy, got her all lost and dizzy. Searching to find it, unless someone's found it. Which might prove distracting, it's not where she left it."

The time she finished speaking, she was crawling over the floor again, and just about to slide under a jeep to have another peek.

Mortimer just stared, head cocked to the side as he watched and listened.

"Uh huh. Don' think I wanna know what your ability is. Now, what the hell did you lose? And who the hell is Gertrude?"

He talked funny. She liked that.

"A top, a shop, a mop and broom. She's sure she left it in this room. It went away and can't be seen. It isn't where it's meant to have been." Namely, on her body.

But she was constantly losing things. "Gertrude is the mean one, she's still a test. She's not as comfortable as the rest. Picked her up from another place, she came last in our race." Gertrude was actually the larger of the rocks under Ophelia's bed. But it wouldn't make sense to anyone but her.

Mortimer had no idea that he would be sharing a building with a full grown woman who had imaginary friends, if they were that. As far as he knew, Fred had only told him about one person who saw things, and that was Martini. Literally. Things.

"Right, I'm utterly lost on you. I'd help if you weren't talking like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum."

She shook her head, "Not a twin, just the sign, there's a difference in the way they climb." She carried on her search all the same, coming up empty under the jeep.

Sliding out the other side, Ophelia stood and clumped her boots around to the side of the jeep, standing and staring at where the table would've been. "It came off there, at least she thinks. It was trial and error, working out the kinks."

Like how the hell did you play poker? And then they changed it. And she joined Rictor, and Martini came too. There had been drink and bets and nakedness. But she really couldn't remember where her top ended up.

"..... huh. Didn' know we had a bloody character from Alice in Wonderland in our midst."

Mortimer took a seat next to the wall as he observed, still rather puzzled about the girl and her behavior. He looked aside and glanced at a pile of rags. Possibly from the gear heads working on the vehicles, he presumed. One of which was white with red blotches on it, and he picked it up. It was not too dirty, so he wiped his face with it.

"When you last seen this... whatever it was you was lookin' for?"

She hadn't rightly been paying attention at all; it was just on one minute and off the next. It seemed perfectly acceptable at the time. The blond girls had lost their tops, Ophelia thought it was just the done thing.

"On herself, that's where it was. Then game because a lost cause. She drank too much, that can be true. At least by then the night was through."

She didn't blame the strange little man for not understanding her, she was used to it by then. He was fun though.
