She honest to God hadn't meant to make such a mess. She'd tried to be as careful as possible, and really, that was a struggle for her at the best of times. The peroxide was easy to find, the lemon juice, well, she'd just used some from the fridge, and really, she'd been dying her hair since the seventh grade.
Her hair wasn't the issue. The chaos of the kitchen was. Rather than do it in the shower area -where it would make more sense, Lou had used the kitchen, one of the large sinks at the back had been fine and while her head only stung a little from the peroxide, she'd managed to get water, lemon juice and shampoo all over the sink and the work tops.
Accidentally, really, it was.
Thank God her hair wasn't orange. Now all she needed to do was clean up, since she'd left that to go dry her hair and come back to the same mess she'd left -although she was sure she wasn't responsible for the broken jam jar.
