Children + Cat = Bad idea? (OTA!)

Dec 09, 2009 05:05

Perhaps it wasn't the best idea, especially given how Martini as an adult had reacted to her, but Amanda found it easier to wander around the compound in her feline form. She was quite taken with it, truth be told, and she found that she learned a lot simply by sitting around and listening ( Read more... )

While Pyro wasn't the most coordinated of people normally, being a kid again only reminded him that he'd never been coordinated anyway. Shoes that were too big and laces that weren't tied tripped him up enough, and he'd never really watched where he was going before.

So he didn't think to look down when he was wandering into the kitchen. Probably should've.

He was pretty close to stepping on the cat before his shoes tripped him and he stumbled, legs getting in the way and his hands only just grabbing the counter to keep him on his feet.

"What the fuck? Who's got the damn pet!" Kid Pyro was just as loud as grown up Pyro.

Amanda darted to the left, lowering her body to the ground, her tail swishing from side to side as the kid grabbed the counter. My, he was loud. It hurt her ears. She blinked at him, tilting her head as she sat primly on the cold tile.

Almost as if she was censuring him, she flattened her ears for a moment before she gave him a simple feline stare.

He stared back, glaring slightly, "Toss off." He muttered, heading to the fridge after getting his balance back.

Whatever idiot had the cat in the middle of Russia was just that, an idiot. It was one thing for the shape-shifters to wander around but really who had house hold pets out here?

He took another look at the cat, trying to figure it out. But it looked just like any other cat he'd seen. "Fucking idiots." He tried to decide if just the soda would do him just now, figuring that it'd do, before starting to climb on the counters to get to the stupid glasses on the top shelves.

He hated being short.

As soon as John started climbing on the counters, Amanda sighed and shifted back into her human form, a slow shimmer as she stretched out beside him and then smirked.

"I don't care if you're usually forty or four, that's not safe." she murmured, leaning against the counter. "What do you need?" She could easily reach whatever it was that he needed, she was certain.

John just stared. She was so not here a minute ago. What the hell?

"A glass?" His surprise made him surprisingly more cooperative, rather than bitching something out and getting it himself -he'd climbed blank walls before for crying out loud.

He was even more surprised that the cat had left. "Did you step on it?"

Amanda pulled out a glass and she smiled softly, giving her head the barest shake. "I was the cat." she laughed and handed him the glass. It was a kind laugh, not a deprecating one. She didn't want him to feel as though she was laughing at him certainly, but asking if she'd stepped on the cat had amused her to no end.

[ooc: sorry about the delay <3]

He sat on the counter, taking the glass she got for him, and frown. "You're a cat?" That seemed a little lame. At least Tristan turned into a fucking wolf.

And then he thought about it. "Anything else you turn into?" He didn't bother apologising for almost stepping on her, or shouting at her, because if she cared then she shouldn't wander around as small as that.

It had nothing to do with him watching where he was going.

[ooc; absolutely no worries <3]
