Lou was sitting in the mess hall, ignoring all the kids. She didn't do well with children. Regardless of whether they were usually adults or whatever. They were noisy, fussy and usually needed a permanent nap ( Read more... )

Jessie was going to get some hot chocolate when she noticed a girl sitting at one of the tables nearby, drawing. On the table. Wandering over she pulled out a chair and climbed up on it to get a look. She was pleasantly surprised by the colorful skull drawing.

"Wow. So you're the artist who decorated the plates and cups," she said grinning. "I'm Jessie. I like your work. Lord knows we could use some color besides concrete gray around here."

Louisa nodded at the inquiry, noting that the girl was fairly young -probably an age change victim since the only kids she'd seen before it were boys. "Yeah, I just get bored and," she shrugged slightly, "doodle."

It was weird to talk to people who weren't adults any more, when they should've been. But then it was probably worse for them. "I'm Lou."

(ooc: no worries. Lj just being Lj again.)

"Nice to meet you. And you doodle very well." Jessie watched Lou work for a while it was soothing to watch her lay down the bright colors, see the pattern grow. "You don't mind if I watch, do you?"

She shrugged a shoulder, "No, I don't mind." She wasn't used to an audience watching her draw though, it did seem like they liked her drawings. Then again, they hadn't seen her brother's apartment.

The walls in his house were pretty much covered in her earlier doodles -including misshaped dogs, wonky rainbows and some questionable looking unicorns.

But then, Jane had always just humoured her. "You don't draw?"

"I draw sometimes," Jessie told her. "But I'm not as good."
