Bradley was in the rec room. He was back to his eternal struggle with improving the television, although at this point it might have made more sense just to build a new one. But this was now a matter of pride. He would best the foul beast, if it took him another month to do so. It had won several battles, but he was determined to win the war.

He tried to catch his breathing as he slowly turned around, staring at X-13 with big eyes. "Jeez, Scion! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?!" He made a note to teach the weapon about a little something called personal space.
Martini took in a shaky breath, trying to control his racing heart. He held up the cover of the book, where two large brown rabbits looked off into a distant green field. "Watership Down. It's about bunnies."

"...No." He replied quite blandly, knowing that if he had wanted to give Martini an actual heart attack he would only need to use his telekinesis to pinch one of the arteries to his heart. He had done it before.
The man leaned down, looking at the cover of the book before returning the gaze to Martini looking quite confused.
"....A book about rabbits. What do you need to learn about rabbits?"

Martini had come to expect the 'everything for the mission' attitude from Scion. He shook his head, smiling a little. "I don't need to learn about them. I read for fun. Anything else is an added bonus." He shrugged. "Besides, its fantasy. Not much to be learned from talking bunnies with names like Fiver and Bigwig."

"For fun." He repeated, raising an eyebrow as X-13's eyes looked over the cover of the book. Again with the word 'fun', Scion didn't get it. Both Martini and Kurt spoke of it. Perhaps Martini and the teleporting mutant would get along well because they both liked fun.
"...They have names." Scion took a seat next to Martini on the branch, his legs hanging over the side, dangling below him as his hands held on to the branch the weapon looking curious. He frowned suddenly, looking up at Martini as he did. "....Bigwig is a silly name."
Reply
He shifted over slightly as Scion sat down on the branch with him. "Yes, it is. But Bigwig has a meaning. He has a big tuft of hair on his forehead that none of the other rabbits have. They have their own language, Lapine, and in their language his name is Thayli, which literally means Fur-head." Martini read the last bit directly from the back of the book, where the Lapine dictionary was.
"He's not my favorite character, but he's a close second. You'd like him. He protects the burrow when his leader order him to, even though he almost dies in the attempt." It certainly fit the weapon's nature, even though he had been showing more and more of his personality as of late. Martini turned to look at Scion. "Would you like to borrow it?"

He thought about that for a moment, but there was really no contest. "Fiver. He's the weird one of the group. He's sees things no one else does like me. But it comes in handy. He finds his brother after he's been shot, when everyone assumes he's dead. And helps save the whole group when they're attacked, by seeing up a solution."
Martini's dangling leg swung back and forth slowly. He could see from every direction up here. But its not like there was much to see. Snow and trees in three, the dismal looking compund in the fourth. "Yep. He has the equivalent of a small library in our room, and it seems a shame to let all those books just sit there and gather dust. Hardly anybody reads anymore, it's such a shame."

While Martini's legs swung back and forth, Scion's stayed perfectly still. He kept himself posed at the top of the tree, just in case something were to happen he could be ready at a moments notice. Scion's eyes glanced around the setting as he curiously took in the land scape. "...That is a shame. I find reading rather useful."

He gazed out on the landscape again, shrugging a little as he set the book down on the branch carefully. "It's very useful. Everything I've ever needed to know about life, I learned from one book or another."

It was odd.
The weapons eyes followed Martini's out to the land scape, his own leg perfectly still, the other one folded to his body as blue eyes watched. "...I learned many tactics and survival methods from books as well."

"Keller." Martini paused before continuing, not sure how Scion would react hearing his other name. "Are you doing okay?" There was concern in Martini's voice, and perhaps a twinge of guilt. He was the one who had started X on his journey to his past. It looked like it was proving to be a rough journey.

"I am fine." He replied in a solid tone , his eyes tearing away as he looked back out to the land scape. He had not been on a mission recently, he was not injured. Why would he not be okay?

Scion replied, pushing away the tone of hesitance to be a mark of concern. He remained watchful of the scenery, his legs hanging perfectly still beneath him, his body as relaxed as it could be while still looking ready to pounce in a moments notice. The weapon tilted his head slightly, tired eyes watching as a pair of birds flew through the air amongst the trees.
"You and I are radically different, Martini. It is no surprise that our definitions for such a word would be so as well."

He'd probably have gotten the same response from a good majority of his teammates, had he asked them. This was not a group of touchy-feely people who liked to sit around and express their emotions like they were on Oprah. Still, he was perceptive enough to know when his friends were truly alright, and when they merely said they were. But he wouldn't press the issue if Scion didn't want to. Martini shifted his legs, curling the hanging one up and letting the other drop.
