Bearing More Than Good Tidings - OTA, post trip
Everyone was very excited about the trip for supplies, even Hope. Of course, it was her second time going to the city, but this time she wasn’t sneaking out. No one else needed to know that though and the way she laughed and smile on the trip, no one would know. She got another chance to explore, really see the city this time and pick up a few things along the way. There were gifts for friends, the few items people had asked her to pick up for them and some things for herself. She was already reading her new book on the Russian language when they started back.
She was actually adapting to camp life. She had always done better with routine and structure, which the camp had plenty of. Besides her little forays out with Atticus, she followed the rules and did her work, like any well trained soldier. Coming back wasn’t all that terrible, even if she had a moment of wanderlust when they drove back in the gates.
She thanked the soldiers that helped her with her bags and went straight for the Mess Hall. She had gifts to hand out and it was a good bet that was where most people would be.
