Enough was enough. The promise of interesting and dangerous pursuits weren't worth the bullshit attached. It was easily the worst team she'd ever been on. Finding an open terminal to type up her letter proved a challenge but once it was done, she wasted no time taking it to Stryker's office. She didn't bother knocking. She didn't care if he was busy or previously engaged. She just placed the sealed envelope on his desk and said "I'll need transport by 0600 tomorrow." Then headed for the door.
Major Stryker:
I appreciate the opportunity to come here and join your team. I regret never actually taking part in a mission but I believe I agreed to join in haste. In the short time that I have been here it has become quite clear to me that this was a mistake. I apologize if this inconveniences you but I am certain the team you have established will be able to handle any future assignments without my assistance. Though to be honest, I couldn't care less to their aptitude.
Given that we never discussed resignation protocal, this letter is a formality and a kindness on my part. I am neither a member of your military or a citizen of your country. Since my acceptance was voluntary, I assume my rejection is as well. Good luck in your future ventures. I believe you will need it.
