~ Where's the wolf been? ~ OTA (especially those who have not yet met Rahne)

Rahne had been very withdrawn since her conversation with Victor, even going so far as to remove all of her livejournal entries as she didn't need rude people making her feel even worse about herself than she already did. She felt alone, ugly, and ...alone. So alone. There was no one here she trusted yet and no one she felt like talking to. It seemed that nearly everyone was happily paired off with their romantic relationships, which somehow made her feel all the more ugly and disgusting and alone. She often took to heart how people treated her or rather didn't treat her, and the opinions of others had finally worked their way into her psyche, telling her how she'd always be alone, telling her things like 'she should just go live with wolves for the rest of her life.' She hadn't been seen around the compound in quite some time and wasn't even aware of most of the goings on as of late. She was rarely in the room she and El shared, even at night.

Rahne had found a spot away from the facility that was fairly private. It was pretty and it was peaceful here aside from the crows and ravens that crowded around as she tore bits of old bread off of a loaf she'd found in the mess hall that had gone stale. She'd been feeding the corvids for a few days now and she'd gained their trust, some even perching on her hand or shoulder. They were like old everpresent friends that were never far behind. Wolves and carrion birds had a special sort of relationship and Rahne was no exception to the rule. They could sense the wolf and knew it meant food left in it's wake to be taken. When she could, she would hunt in her wolf or ultimate form, but pickings had been scarce. The red-haired young woman with the gray streaks in her hair sat quietly, listening to the birds squibble and squabble and play and preen. She simply didn't feel welcome anywhere...not truely welcome. Oh well, she figured she should be used to all of this by now, but somehow in this place in these circumstances, it seemed worse than normal.

Her green gaze was expressionless and unfeeling as it moved to the nearest raven that was coming close to her, begging for a scrap of bread. With a slight sigh, she tore off another chunk of bread and let the bird take it from between two clawed fingers. It gobbled the morsel down quickly before it's eyes turned skywards. A gentle snowfall had begun as she sat there. A part of her mind began to seriously consider escape from this place, but was it worth it? Could it even be done? Surely they would come after her again. There was little hope of anything going well for her here and it seemed to get more and more bleak as each day passed.
