*Nicky was curled up in the rec room in a chair his legs tucked up against his chest. He flipped and tossed sweat starting to drip down his face and chest. He whimpered and shivered in his sleep mumbling softly under his breath. Normally Jason was there to help with the nightmares but he'd gone to go get a drink of water taking Razi with him

(ooc: this takes place after Talia's visit with Nicky)

Jessie wandered into the rec room just as the black haired young woman woke the little kid, she walked passed them looking around. She wasn't inteding to listen in, but she couldn't help but overhear. She guessed that this was Talia before the woman said so, Edie had told Jessie about her. She had no idea who the kid was or what he was doing on the army base. She waited for the woman to leave before she approached the kid.

"Hi Nicky?" he looked confused and like he hadn't slept in a week. A kid his age shouldn't have dark circles under his eyes. If she could help him, she would. Jessie knelt down by his chair so they were at eye level.

"My name is Jessie. I'm new here and I'm a friend of Edie's. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to overhear. You're not getting much sleep are you? Are you having nightmares?"

He watched her warily she seemed nice enough and he liked Edie but she was a stranger.

"Sometimes."

She saw the distrust in the boy's eyes. The claws looked really familiar as well, another feral? But that wasn't important.

"If you like, I might be able to help with that so you can get some sleep."

What do you mean? *He knew drugs didn't work on him and abilities never really worked on him.*

She looked around before she answered, there was no one in the rec room with them at the moment so she supposed it would be OK to help him out.

"I know it sounds silly, but I could try to sing you to sleep."

*He raised an eyebrow looking at her like she was a little nuts.*

Jessie smiled at that.

"It's my power. I know you're a smart guy and you're a mutant, so I'll tell you how this works. But I need you not to tell anyone else about it. OK? I can control people's minds by singing to them."

"You can? Most powers don't work on me at least not for long."

[cover_your_ears]

"Well, we could try. Even if it doesn't work for long, at least you'll get a little sleep. I can't read your mind and I won't make you do anything that you don't want to, or think anything that would get you in trouble. I promise. Do you want to try it?"

He shrugged a little,"I don't know."

[cover_your_ears]

"OK. Since there's nobody else around, we could try a test here and see if it works on you first. If it doesn't work. At least we tried. But I won't force you to do anything."

He fiddled with his hands trying to think it over.

"I won't push. If you decide later you want to try it, just let me know." She got up and left the rec room headed for her quarters.
