Can you say bored? [ota but not patrolling minions -sorry, he's sneaky]

Lt. Worth was not happy. He did not like the snow. He'd already ruined two of his favoured flight suits, and his rubix cube was still no where near done. And his hands itched to be in a cockpit. They said it wasn't punishment -who the fuck were they kidding? He'd been shipped out to the middle of nowhere, Russia because he was a mutant and that was ( Read more... )

He couldn't help it, even in this shitty place, he grinned when she just plopped down. Looking up and around, Worth faked a look of confusion. "Is there a mirror around that I missed?"

Cheesy, yes. But damn, did he care?

"You're out late." He paused his game, because well, he was gonna drown anyway -Mario didn't hold his breath very long it seemed. "Cutting class?"

"Meh," one shoulder shrugged, and a bone sort of slipped through the surface, with a small wince, Jane pushed it back in. "Not so much." He wouldn't mention that actually, hearing her call him that, yeah, not so cold.

"How about you? Wandering around at night, in the middle of an ice age and," he paused slightly, looking at her. "Are you wearing jammies?"

"Yeah;" they were cute as hell though, and Jane was fairly certain that they would be colder than hell. "The fact that we are not in fact, as our oh-so-smart commanders seem to thing, woolie mammoths, does play a part in that whole hard to sleep thing."

Jane was having trouble sleeping because he kept shivering and impaling the bed. It wasn't so much the numerous holes in his mattress as much as he did have to share a room and he wasn't too sure if the room-mate would appreciate a few extra holes come morning.

So sitting up, in the garage, with his DS, seemed like a better option. Still, company was great. "You know," he raised a hand to the back of his neck, scratching a little nervously, "if you flick the switch, might be warmer to huddle." Because he wouldn't move any closer while he was this cold and his damn powers kept stuttering.

Honestly, she was right, it felt damn weird. But he had to remind himself, he could handle 10g's, he could handle the switch flip. He still groaned a little though. "Feels like the first time I broke the speed barrier." Only this was a little less fun.

But with a few hours of non-bone protrusion, and the comfort of knowing that he wouldn't shiver and actually stick her with a rather painful spike in her arm, side or shoulder, Jane was happy to shuffle closer and smirk.

"You do that often?" They hadn't really bothered with the whole power talk past the first hour in the airport. They'd found enough 'normal' stuff to talk about during the drive.

He actually didn't mind the hair playing; so sue a guy, hanging out with the lads all the time got a little repetitive. And if a really cute girl, with a wicked sense of humour and candy addiction just happened to want to lean against him and play with his hair? Who was he to argue?

"Having a switch off, even just for an hour or two? Gotta be hell of a handy." Jane hadn't met many mutants. One or two, but he was a fairly open-minded guy, even before he knew he was one too. Apparently, his powers just didn't activate because of the stress of his job.

Making it easier to sit together, Jane wrapped his arm around Des' shoulders, grateful for the blanket by all means. "So; I have a rather serious question, and it's pretty much one of those make or break things." Seriousness laced his voice; at least for a while.

"Do you like Mario Bros 2?" And he held up his almost forgotten DS by way of explanation.

His grin pretty much said it was made. "Well, I just don't know if we'd be able to be seen around each other if it was know that you didn't like Mario." Was he a dork, yes. But he was an adorable one.

His mother told him so.

"So; we now have that in common, all is well. We can be friends." Of course, even if she didn't like them, he would've probably warred through it.

He did like her after all. A lot.

"God, I know. It's like the weight is lifted." He nudged her lightly, happy to do so without worry of his powers and smirking at her.

"Still, there was always candy and pizza on top of it." And having her curled beside him, was a whole lot better than sitting in his room, with his room mate -who he was sure had some sort of emotional repression or something, playing his DS.

There may have been a slight colouring to his cheeks at that, but the feel of her hand against his neck and her words, well. Things just happened. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that if I had to get kicked somewhere, I'm kinda glad you were there."

Ideally, he'd still be with the Air Force, maybe working out of DC, but even more ideally, he would've still met her somewhere. And wow, if this wasn't going to really complicate things.

"We really need to take one of them out, and get more of those marshmallows and candy." Because he'd managed to get through them all before they even reached the base, and damn if he didn't want to just spend the day doing something with her.
