So, I applied for a job at a local natural foods co-op. I'm going to guess that the pay is anywhere between 7.25 and 9.00 dollars per hour. There are benefits and an employee discount.
My SO was like, "Really, Why?!"
After being unemployed since May 20th and my last severance check already cleared... Do I have options any more? Nobody is calling back.
We have a three year old and we've got money in the bank for awhile, but I don't want to burn through that... I don't want it to get to the point where there is literally .75 cents in there.
I've been trying to call the unemployment office, but I can't actually speak to anyone! I just wait and wait and wait and then finally get hung up on. (but, I'll keep trying... don't you worry!)
But, back to the job thing... Is is better than nothing at all? Taking a job that I'll probably quit if something better comes along?
Is it fair to them? In circumstances like this... is it just about survival?
I've got a BA in English and am currently in Grad School. I've got about 5 years of experience in Higher Ed and Non-profits.
So, that's me.
Have any of you considered taking a job similar?
Thanks!
