To Self Identify or not to Self Identify?
Do you guys self-identify your race/gender on forms when HR requests it?
I used to--but now I'm so paranoid about it I usually just skip that section.
I just got an email from a company I applied to months ago and forgot about, asking me if I was interested in self-identifying...since I didn't hear from them months ago, it is probably just so that they can fill out their records on applicants who are interested in working for them.
So, is anyone paranoid about self-identifying? Do you associate any disadvantages or advantages with it? I could just be losing it because I've been on "the hunt" for such a long time...but I've become very reluctant to fill out these forms.
