Retail Sucks

There needs to be a labor movement within the retail sector. Flextime was created to help workers with families and educational pursuits; not to increase the profits of corporate America. In these times of high unemployment, employers know that for every worker they lose, many will be there in hopes of filling the position. My advise to you is ~ Don't put these last two unsuccessful positions on your resume. If you like retail, the holiday season is upon us and there should be many positions opening up. Just keep your ID numbers straight and have a talk with the bus driver. Peace

Problem is, if it's not on my resume, it looks like I was just idle for the past year or so. And on applications, you have to put *all* your jobs down; it's typed right at the bottom of the sheet where you sign.

I had a natter with my retail team leader this very evening as my full time job is getting my wick and my part time retail job is being lovely. Right now, if you want to be in retail, the prospects appear good. Too many people are hearing *end of recession* and walking out of jobs they would otherwise stick because. My store (a supermarket chain similar to Wal-mart) had a cashier up and walk earlier so they are dying on their feet for overtime workers. Once my full time job stfu (the deadline is this week, ptl) I can go overtime nuts at the store.

So true; retail workers are treated like second class citizens.
