There was a moment of silence before John said, “I can’t do the ‘baby’ thing, can I?”
“No,” said Ronon.
“Definitely not,” Rodney chimed in.
“It was awkward for us all,” Teyla agreed.
*cries* Oh, you got it. Nailed it. Poor John. You described the Michael history perfectly.
Ronon/Jet was spot on, too, and after my initial moment of trying to envision Rodney as Ed, my brain rebooted and found that hilarious as well. Rodney, fingers dancing in the air, eating everything in sight with his goggles still on! Whee!
Teyla, though. My god, I'm seeing her in Faye's outfits, even though I know she's not really taking Faye's place. But the cleavage! The inappropriately hidden weaponry! I think I need to go cool down. XD
Ok, in my continuing obsession, I managed to hunt up imeem links: all episodes, for people who want to know.
If you just want a one-shot, I recommend #14 (Bohemian Rhapsody) or #17 (Mushroom Samba), both humor eps with all the characters present and no major series plot arcs. If you want something more serious with plot and gender identity issues, try #10 (Ganymede Elegy). [Ed doesn't show up until #9, so it's hard to get them all in before plot takes over.]
Or, you know, just watch the whole thing from the beginning. Though the first ep is weak compared to most of the series.
So, John as Spike was spot-on, and then you had Ronon making the bell peppers and beef in the flowered apron, and suddenly it was like the episode was running in technicolor 3D right in front of me. And it only got better with Rodney/Ed and Teyla/Faye. Very cool - great job.
I'm totally with briar_pipe on the "I can't do the 'baby' thing" exchange. Though really, Teyla's "It was awkward for us all" just made my night.
I love this fusion. It's been too long since I've seen Cowboy Bebop, but I remember the characters well. John was less of a dick than I thought he would be, though...

(And if you want to post your mix tomorrow, that would be fine, too. No need to rush or stay up all night uploading.)
See You, Space Cowboy!

This reminds me of Linus Mines' voiceover of "Tank!!" ('Spike's Confession'), because it so works for John, too.
