Title: Christmas at Atlantis (Grocery) Author/Artist: beanrice Rating: G Prompt: Grocery AU Warning: I only have raw lineart. Let's just say I really messed up remembering the dates.*grovels*
Aww! Rodney as Santa! *has bad visions of Rodney dashing the hopes of little children asking for impossible things* Hmm...although he can be a soft touch. Maybe if the first kid asked for a microscope or some kind of math toy he'd be nicer to the others?
Teyla and John as elves! I can't think of anything coherent to say to that at all... Except, is it just me, or are they exchanging amused/sneaky glances behind Rodney's back?
Ronon in glasses! And his hand holding Rodney back. "Come on Rodney, you have to put on the beard and the hat." And Rodney's frowney face!
Wow, thanks! I think Rodney would be a great Santa. He'd be partial to the smart kids, but I think he'd be an overall (secret) softie to the kids.:D Ronon's most probably been influenced by John with the shades thing.
(But you remembered in the end! Trust me, your mods are very happy with you right now. ^_^)
I adore this. It's taken me a couple of hours to figure out what the style was reminding me of, but my brain did finally cough up Cowboy Bebop and the other jazzy, beatnick anime of that era. I love the tilt of their mouths (Teyla's especially), the wildness of their hair, Rodney's sweatdrop (so understated, awesome), and Ronon standing there all cool and casual and oh, he just happens to be wearing antlers.
But I think my favoritest thing of all is John threatening Rodney with a bottle of Slice. I can hear Rodney now: "No respect! Twice as much education as any of you bozos and I have to let small, sticky people sit on my lap and tell me their avaricious desires. What if one of them pees?!"
The affectionate mischief in John's expression is just priceless.
Thank you! I'm glad it's okay. I was really crossing my fingers when I posted this, because I've never really passed anything done so quickly (I'm very, very slow when it comes to drawing) ever.
I haven't really watched Cowboy Bebop, though I've heard of it. I've been told though that it's awesome, so I'm flattered. I wish someone would write an AU fic for this. Can you imagine Rodney railing at all the inventory and labeling people for being such idiots? Lecturing people about the nutritional contents of food stuffs? It would be hilarious.
Somebody should totally write that! It would be hilarious!
...somebody can't be me, unfortunately. I lack the funny.
I can't believe you've never seen Bebop! It's the same era as Trigun and Outlaw Star - they're like the unofficial trilogy of SciFi Westerns. I, uh, feel kind of compelled to remedy this. *eyes DVD shelf*
