*sob* I just did a mini-report on Takarazuka for my Japanese class, but there wasn't time to talk about musumeyaku loveliness! I wanted to talk about their soft, soft skin, and their high, beautiful voices, and their grace...
*sob*
Oh well. *Sigh* A few people looked interested, so maybe they'll join the fandom and discover musumeyaku perfection for themselves.
Meanwhile! Here's my version of the big ol' survey...
name: Liz
age: 28
country: USA, baby!
troupe loyalty: You know, I don't have one? I find I enjoy more of the work done by Yukigumi and Soragumi, but if if a play is good, I want to see it.
favourite musumeyaku top star(s): Ever? MAIKAZE RIRA. Hanafusa Mari. Ayano Kanami. Shirahane Yuri. I'm quite fond of Ootori Rei, Toono Asuka, Nagisa Aki, and Aihara Mika (who said she was a huge musumeyaku fan!), too. Come to think of it, Yukigumi and Hoshigumi usually winds up with wonderful musumeyaku tops...
favourite musumeyaku non-top star(s): Former? Izumo Aya, Natsukawa Yura. Now? Suzuna Saya, Hanakage Alice, Ootsuki Sayu, Asaki Yumemi, Otohana Yuri, Matsumoto Yuri, Miho Keiko
favourite musumeyaku solo(s): All of O-Hana's from "Honoo ni Kuchizuke wo" and "Phantom", Maikaze Rira's from "Susanoo"
favourite musumeyaku stage name(s): Purely as a name, Shirayuki Sachika and Shirayuri Hime, but I also love the imagery of "Maikaze" and "Otohana"
favourite golden combi(s): WaoHana. There are other conbi that I like a lot, notably AsakoMihoko and MizuTonami, but nothing compares to WaoHana.
favourite heroine costume(s): How the heck can I choose just one?!? Maybe O-Hana's Marie Antoinette dress.
favourite musumeyaku revue outfit(s): Maa-chan's beautiful "Queen Rose" outfit. Again, though, it's hard to choose.
likes: Musumeyaku hair ornaments. *sigh!*
pet peeve(s): Otokoyaku as musumeyaku.
a piece of good advice for Hankyuu: You know, promoting your musumeyaku more will give them more fans which means YOU WILL MAKE MORE MONEY.
word is power: Musumeyaku show all the ways that one can be beautifully feminine; she can be soft and sweet, strong and stoic, smart and supportive, tough and unstoppable. When given the chance, they are the most feminine, beautiful women in the world, and show that being a "girl" doesn't mean you have to be limited or shallow.
