The Big Musumeyaku Questionaire

name: K.
age: ... not too close to thirty. Yet.
country: Denmark.

troupe loyalty: I’m a newbie, so I can’t rightly say - but as of now, I am head over heels for Yukigumi.
favourite musumeyaku top star(s): Fuzuki Miyo is my leading favourite at the moment, followed with absolutely minimal distance by Maikaze Rira and Ootori Rei. Sakurano Ayane, too, I expect, when I’ve seen a bit more of her. I’d also like to see more of Toono Asuka. Regarding current top musumeyaku, I confess to being horrendously out of the loop.
favourite musumeyaku non-top star(s): Maihane Mimi, Miho Keiko, Ai Youko, Haruka Midori.

favourite leading musumeyaku role(s): Sharon Kazatti (In the Amber-Hued Rain), Lilith (Lucifer’s Tears), Mireille Duroc (Silver Wolf), Miyuki Tachibana (The Last Snow of Spring).
favourite supporting musumeyaku role(s): Patricia (Romance de Paris), Madame Wolf (particularly Miho Keiko’s version from 1996), Yvette (Lucifer’s Tears), Carlotta (Phantom).
role you would like to see a Takarazuka musumeyaku take on: Kim Lea (Miss Saigon), mostly for the awesome songs. Fantine or Eponine (Miho Keiko as Fantine… I’m just saying…), because I am a little bit obsessed with Les Mis.

favourite musumeyaku solo(s): Rosalie’s solo from Rose of Versailles. Lilith’s solo from Lucifer’s Tears. Basically every solo Maachan has ever had, actually. Midori’s version of “Watashi dake ni”.
favourite musumeyaku stage name(s): Yamashina Ai, Sakurano Ayane, Maikaze Rira.
favourite golden combi(s): Fuzuki Miyo and Haruno Sumire. Maikaze Rira and Asami Hikaru.

favourite heroine costume(s): Inada-hime’s costumes from Susano-o. Elisabeth’s red dress from the ball scene. Lilith’s white dress from her dance solo in Lucifer’s Tears. Sharon’s black and white dress from In the Amber-Hued Rain. Every single thing worn by Sakurano Ayane in Gu Bijin.
favourite musumeyaku revue outfit(s): The card deck outfits from Wonderland. Mostly everything in Les Collages (it’s not my favourite Revue but it is - so pretty - !). Maikaze Rira’s butterfly outfit from Tarentella. No doubt many others, too, that I can’t remember now. The revues tend to be really nice to musumeyaku, costume-wise, don’t they?

likes: Musumeyaku with strong, powerful voices. Soprano or lower is all good for me, though I tend to prefer soprano voices. Other than that, I like flawed, female characters and musumeyaku who can pull off powerful strength, as well as cuddly cuteness.
pet peeve(s): Feeble singing voices, though amongst musumeyaku, this seems to be a really rare thing. ~ Young stars getting promoted too much, too soon.
a piece of good advice for Hankyuu: Give the amazingly gifted, young musumeyaku a few years to find their feet in the Revue, please.

word is power:
Another new fan - I’ve seen a lot of Yukigumi, because of flower-ballet’s wonderful obsession with Maachan, but I’ve yet to really explore the world of Takarazuka on my own. As you can possibly see from the above, I have a soft spot for Hanagumi as well and will probably be taking a closer look at their productions in the future. Also, I am a huge fan of Kimu and while I have no doubt that Manaka Ayu and Yumeka Ami are both interesting and competent and would love to see them in a lot of plays, I am rooting for Maihane Mimi with regards to the next top musumeyaku position in Yukigumi. <3
