I met Bobby last night.

So, I went to the Madison Theater in Covington, KY last night to see Bobby open for Michael Franti (who BTW was also awesome, but yes, this is about Bobby). So I get there early to get as close as I can to the stage since the only camera I have is old and doesn't take the best video especially from far away. I took video of most of the show and a few photos. He was selling CDs and a Vinyl, so I bought the vinyl because dude, vinyl is so much better. Anyway, I'd been holding it the whole show - which makes for one handed camera work in a crowd = shakey/blurry so my apologies for that now. So after the show I go out to smoke and walk to my car to put the vinyl in there so nothing happens to it while I'm watching Franti. My car is parking in a garage behind the theater. This is all about luck and timing, because had I not been walking around the back then I might not have seen him carrying out his guitars and thought to walk on over. So I did, a couple other people are standing around back there but they seemed to be waiting for Franti and his band.

So I waited and finally Bobby came back out again and I'm not shy so I just say "Hey Bobby will you sign my album" and in that fantastic British accent he said "just a sec". I'm not rude so I stood patiently and waited, complimented his band on their performance and borrowed a pen from the same person standing out there who took a picture of us together for me. I told him how great of a show it was and the other person asked just where he was from since she'd been studying abroad in London. And with about 5 or 6 "thank you"s said I departed and went to put the vinyl in my car because now I definitely didn't want anything to happen to it. Smoked another cig and went to watch/dance to Franti for the rest of the night.



First really, video quality is NOT the best, I know that I have a shitty camera, but it was still an amazing show.

I was actually surprised when he signed this and asked me for my name, in my experience it's rare to have a personalized autograph but it made me really happy.
