Dear Fandom,
I think a vast majority of you really need to chill the -fuck- out. Seriously! I'm not defending her actions, giving her an excuse for what she did, or even saying what she did was wrong. Because you know what, it is what she decided to do and that's all there is to it.
I mean, I even saw the show. It wasn't as bad as all of your furries are making it out to be. The only thing I can really see is that she didn't clarify that not all people who fursuit have fursuit sex. But hell, look at the other guests! A couple who enjoys having sex with strangers in front of each other, and another couple where the women has two husbands! These are both out of the norm of society as well, taboo as it were! Sheesh! Why is it that there is always something wrong about furries that are portrayed in the media?!
But I keep hearing you furries say things like "She's ruining our reputation!", "This is another reason as to why I can't "come out" as a furry!", "She's a disgrace to our fandom!"
Well, not to be rude, but our reputation has been jacked from the get go from when this whole fandom started. Just like when you encounter "Trekkies." Cause what's the stereotype of those guys? Roughly, they are complete geeks and nerds who do not have a girlfriend, can recite entire episodes by memory, go to conventions and dress up as Starfleet officers, Klingons, etc. We have our stereotype as well, just as everything else in this world and it's not gonna be changing anytime soon.
With something else, I doubt you would have came out to your coworkers/family/school friends any less now that Chewfox has been on Tyra. If they have heard the term "furry" before, chances are Tyra isn't making them feel any different towards them. If they haven't, well, now is your time to shine and express to them what -YOU- think a furry is and try not to make yourself look like a jackass. The reason you can't "come out" is not because of Chewfox; it's because of you.
And seriously, she is no more of a disgrace to this fandom than the hundreds of others here that have or are interested in fursuit sex, plush sex, furry orgies, draw/write/fap to furry art/stories/porn, and or act upon extreme and taboo kinks.
Embrace the fact that the fandom you are a part of is fucked up, just like every other fandom/society that is out there. Don't act like a child just because someone feels free to express what the consider enjoyable to anyone they wish.
Hugs and Kisses,
Renkairu
