SO i learned a new verb, cramming, to cram. IT's some unauthorized company putting charges or changes on somebody else's phone bill. AT&T told me that's the verb, the word for what happened.
How did this happen? ATT won't say or can't say.
We've been charged by some company called ILD Teleservices, INC 8.94 for voicemail set up. We never asked for voicemail. One, we have an answering device, a physical bit of plastic and metal and whatever else is in there. Two, toad hates voice mail. He doesn't like phone calls and if it's that important people can call back or leave a message on our answering machine which requires pushing a button, not getting 'on the phone'.
AT&T said i have to call the ILD _again_ first call was in dec for the billing in nov, to ask for the charges to be removed. I think that's a pain and slightly unfair. I thought (edited) it's their breech of billing i should think. I suppose since i'm not a lawyer i don't have the proper answers or terms to use. Now that i've read up on it, i now know i'm the one who has to fight with these creeps at ILD and report them. So i am reporting them. I also read since the monopoly was broken up, AT&T is required to do this billing for them.
I want to report this so that ILD can be 'watched' tho I have no idea by whom, i guess the FCC but i really don't know if that's their job. This is a billing scam.
I called ILD for the second time since they never refunded the november charge, who transfered me and claimed i'd called another number from their 800. If there is a billing for that call i will be even more annoyed.
ILD claims they will credit, but they said this previously about the november bill and it's still not off, by sending ATT a notice of credit for my money back and this will take two billing cycles. So, i'm out 8.94 unless some crap lying company sends AT&T that money back, and now they claim it will be charged again next month.
ATT did 'put a block' on my account so no more charges can be placed on my account. We never signed up for voicemail but i have no idea if ATT's block will really do anything since they billed us in the first place for something we didn't authorize and they won't do anything about it themselves, they say we have to do something about it.
This is all a scam.
So, i have to figure out whom to report this to.
http://www.help4srs.org/finance/cram.htm said read your phone bill carefully. Well i did, but that doesn't mean that we won't be out this money and or get charged again, and or have another scam unless att's block works. I did file an FCC report based on the FCC page. I don't know if it will help and if it's the only thing I should do or not. Looking at better business bureau page at the moment.
Tho, we could cancel ATT and get phone over the internet, especially if that's unlikely to be crammed, but who knows. I'd never heard of this before.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3078500/ apparently tho it's an old scam that is resurging.
from:
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/cell_phones/ild.html Thus, any consumer whose local telephone bill includes an unauthorized charge from ILD should immediately call the toll-free number next to the charge to find out what the charge is for. If the charge is unauthorized, the consumer should politely insist that the ILD representative investigate further and report back in 30 days.
The ceo evil man thief is in my opinion, this guy gleened from the websites about his business. May his karmactic kickback be ever so full of all the time he's wasted for all the people who have had to deal with him, and all the heartburn, indigestion etc. You'd think he'd be croaked by now with all that high blood pressure wouldn't you? If it karmacticaly hit him all at once you'd think he'd explode.

We're waiting. we were charge in november and it's january twenty three and no refund has been issued as far as AT*T knows.
