so can registered indePenDent voters cast any ballot today in bama?

so far i am not having good googleshweee.
the sample ballots from the news only show elephants and donkeys. i'm guessing i do not get to vote in the primary as per usual.
my vote doesn't count! ;)
however, one of our news folks was really funny. he claimed if you voted today, on mardi gras day, you were thrown beads instead of given the 'i voted' sticker. :) he did say he was just kidding. i think it's great. :)
