Sunday baywalk

Oct 16, 2006 13:22

Sunday we walked along the bay in point clear.

The older homes there were built along the 'road' the bay with the front of the house toward the bay, and the back toward the road. I'm not sure when that road was paved. I should find that out.

There are many homes that are still not repaired from the ocean surge from Katrina and Rita. Ivan caused some wind damage, but the ocean rushing through some homes made a real mess.

Kat and ! and the toad and i walked along one section and kat's boots made nifty WOW noises walking in the sand where there should have been boardwalk or sidewalk. It's been a pain to walk along there.

Toad and frog are happy to report that there's been significant clearage of the sand with the old john deer and it's green paint is none worse the wear!

YAY!

Evil dr. smilax is still around, but there are some lovely lantana and the butterflies, the monarchs that swarm before the trip south across the gulf were fabulous. I was reminded of "The Buttefly Tree" a story written about fairhope and the butterflies which i borrowed from the Daphne Public Library.

The Grand has folks instead of ducks. A huge change from last thanksgiving time.

Toad took photos of some people who wanted their pics taken. There were too many people to get a princess shot on the balcony. Maybe next time.

Lemon!
