Title: Rooftop Lightening
Summary: You always make me nervous.
If April showers bring May flowers,
and we trek up to the highest towers,
We’ll see get to wave hello-
a hapless hello.
And from the balcony, I recall
stepping up to the ledge with you
and fearing the long fall.
And the people- they are watching.
They are hoping that we’re jumping
far below.
(Oh, let’s go.)
I don’t know if you’re jumping,
But I know I want to follow.
Oh, April showers brought May flowers
and turned the waves to spikes;
turned our compliments into dikes
that just wouldn’t hold.
Well, let’s burst through
and overflow.
If you’re thinking about jumping,
make sure to let me know.
And the people that were watching
clutched to the T.V. guides
tailor-made to shut their eyes
against our breathless show .
Shower me in the rain
from the clouds swirling in your restless brain,
Sway me to and fro-
Just don’t ever let me go.
If you’re going to jump,
make sure to let me know.
I don’t wanna stand the rooftop,
all alone,
and soaked to the bone.
So when you are taking off,
pull my hand and go.
When you’re jumping off,
grab my hand and throw.
Oh, we’re just lightening bugs
flittering with all the fighter jets
and all the empty threats.
But if you’re going to jump,
hold your breath and let’s go-
blinking like bombs
And blinding glow.
