things I forgot to say...

Oh too many things, so little time:

1. A week ago on Monday I did one day of a Rachel Sanders clinic. Teague was down still, so I ran Mr. Bogie and gahhhh, he was the best little boy. And SOOOOO much easier to turn on those drills/courses that Teague would have been :). I actually learned a lot - one of the biggest things I learned was:

Don't run like a banana, run like an arrow!!!! Do you know how much I run like a banana? Banana lines all over the course - for goodness sake! I'd already been looking at that with my Flyte videos and this was so confirming of my bad behavior. No wonder poor Flyte is struggle with some of her stuff, I just get in her line all over the place.

I also liked the idea of my legs being the "future" and my upper body indicating the "present." It's not really different than what I already know, but I liked the way it helped my brain make sense of what I should be doing. It was also clear how muddied many of my cues are, in general.

I was grateful I didn't have Teague because he would have far outspeeded the other dogs there and I would have looked even more foolish, holy lord. Plus, I suspect it would have been somewhat frustrating. For learning mode, it was great to have Bogie man.

2. At the moment Teague is not lame! Yeah, so we did a tiny bit of agility and so far so good. I still want to get him to someone who really knows what they are doing with this stuff and have them assess him. I am thinking I am still not going to trial in December, just some time off.

3. Flyte is also not lame right now, fingers crossed. Dr Sams (her surgeon) looked at the x rays and didn't see anything popping out at him, but wanted me to send them onto Shelley, baby daddy's mom, since she's a vet radiologist. Now I just can't actually get the xrays from my vet to send them on. that's a work in progress. I am hopeful though that it was "just" a soft tissue injury from the monsterish hike Gina took them on. So, things at the moment are good.

4. I got a road bike!!! For many many years i was a mountain biker, and a fairly decent one. Rode in Virginia for three years and learned lots of technical skills doing all the rock trails out there. Came back here where the trails are relatively boring (any time there is a log down, etc, they clear it, rather than learning to ride over it, pshhhhh). Then I had a BAD wreck a month or so after being here and my neck has been jacked up ever since, and usually hurt when I rode. So, after riding for another year or two I pretty much stopped riding... booo. This was one of the main together activities that Gina and I had together so it was a bummer. She is still an avid bicyclist and does most of her riding alone. Given my neck and back, its' still not a great idea to land on my head anymore (so sayeth the neurosurgeon). But, I bought a road bike last week! I am so psyched and yesterday I went out for my first road ride. Shit that thing is fast! My neck is a bit sore, but i have a master plan. I'm getting a referral to a PT so I can learn to strengthen my neck without killing it, and so i will be able to be more functional. I'm excited, though can we say ridicuiosly (sp?) sore crotch today, I know, TMI.

5. I have got to figure out how to include more pictures in my posts. I am just not as savvy as some of you, but I'm working on it.

6. I'm grateful for this blog. Grateful that there are these amazing energetic beings, masquerading as people, that are willing to connect with me. For you all, I'm grateful.
