She’s my daughter.
If it’s true we define ourselves by the people around us he’s been many things.
Only natural, that. Nine hundred years of time and space and he’s worn many faces. He’s not just talking physical ones either - been many a thing to many a people, he has.
Hero. Martyr. Friend. Lover. Father. He’s been them all and, now - now, he doesn’t take a name because he doesn’t need another.
Nine hundred years, all that experience and it should have taught him, but he still talks as if he can turn them off.
I was a dad once.
