"You unpuff that beard, young lady!"

Squishy is back from the vet and has been placated with mealworms. She was out in the waiting room and seemed a little afraid of the dogs, but I gave her access to a hiding spot on my lap and she was happy watching everything. The vet we saw this time was a little frustrating to deal with. He talked over me a lot and didn't really listen, plus he was quite rough with Squishy, which meant that she puffed up at him the whole time and made a lunge to bite. Either way, he could hear some wheezing as she breathed so he agrees that she has a minor RI. 15 months ago when she last saw the vet she weighed 325g, now she's a hefty 525g! He kept commenting on that and I wasn't sure if he was reprimanding me or not so I'm going to assume he was just impressed since he'd probably tell me to feed her less if he had concerns. He also said that, if it weren't an RI, it could be allergies. O_o Uhm, I've never heard of a reptile having allergies before so I was all, "Hokaaaay. . .", particularly when he went on about how we'd need to treat that with steroids.

Anyhoo, she's to have 0.2ml of Baytril once a week for two weeks. She only had to take it for one week last time and she was much worse then so I'm a little curious about the increase but eh. Whatever works. I'll talk to Henry about it.

She took her meds well and I gave her mealies afterwards to make her feel better. :)

squishy, herps
