So around 2:30AM i took a shower and the hot water wouldn't turn off. It always dripped before but this was no drip and I had turned the faucet as tightly as possible.
Seeing as in I am practically half plumber I played around with the knobs and the dials beneath my sink and tried taking the knob off the faucet and using a pliers to tighten the switch.
Water was still flowing full force
My management company isn't open and I was too scared to wake my super up.
The water probably wouldn't have overflowed, but it could have, plus I never would fall asleep with the noise.
So I woke up my boyfriend and he said he'd come over even though I assured him that I had tried everything. Plus he is not even half plumber like me.
My apartment started to get very steamy.
So he came over and turned the hot water facet a little bit and all the water turned off. Like he even stopped the drip.
I had taken a freaking pliers to the thing and all he did was grab it with one hand and it turned off.
So embarrassing.
He tried to assure me that some screw was lose, and it usually starts as a leaky faucet, and then progresses. I would have to turn it really tightly for now, but something is really wrong with my shower because eventually all the ridges that screw in my faucet would be ground off and I should call the landlord to get it fixed.
Still it really stinks that I couldn't turn my water off with pliers and everything and all he did was twist his arm.
Like, sometimes, when it comes to non mental things, I worry we might really be the weaker sex.
