I was going to say 'go home,' and then I saw The Master Chief's answer. It wouldn't feel right to go knowing that my friends here were still in trouble.

That's very thoughtful of you. It's comforting to know that there are some people here who would not simply run off the moment an oppurtunity presented itself.

What brought this question on? I mean, it's not like we get a choice either way, is it?

No, we don't get a choice. But if we did... if the war were brought to an end, and we were given a choice... I suppose I ought to have specified that.

Ah... I was simply curious.

[ooc: Just curious? Bull. XD]

If there was no war, I imagine a lot would be different around here.

This has nothing to do with the recent departures then?

I'm certain things would be very different. I have hopes that we will end things quickly.

...I suppose that may have sparked the thought. Perhaps.

[ooc: Actually it doesn't. XD]

That ... would be nice. But I'm gearing up for the long term, personally.

Want to talk about it? I mean, we're all in the same situation more or less.

((/o/ well Robin tries at least.))

Understandable. Hope is a thing of air, a thing of dreams. Dreams are nothing.

I... Well... It's...

There are people here I'd rather not leave behind.

[How very sweet of him! He might get her to open up :D]

Dreams are what keep us going.

Yeah. I -- know the feeling. There are people here I'd never meet back home.

((sadly, Robin sort of fails at the whole feelings thing. But -- he tries.))

As I once told someone I knew, I've never had dreams. Just nightmares. It must be nice, to have dreams.

Yes. I... I found my father here. I would have never met him, had I lived out my life back home. And... there are others...

Sorry to hear that. I've had more than my share of nightmares myself.

Your father? That's -- that would make things difficult.

Perhaps, here, I may dare to dream. I would not worry about it overly much.

Yes. He would be... gone... were I to return home.

Why not? I think it's worth a shot.

Sorry to hear that. I ... lost my parents too.

I'd never had anything to dream about before, you see. But now...

My... my mother was here, briefly. I do not know what happened to her. Perhaps she too, is dead, back where I came from.

That's something that can't be taken from you -- no matter where you go.

I can see why you'd be reluctant to return. Losing them both all over again ...

Yes, but if I were taken from this place, what use would my dreams be then?

Yes. I... I cannot imagine what it would be like, without my father, again. It's... a long story. One I'm... willing to share, if you've got the time.
