It's about that time of the year, friends! It's been nearly a year since
rachg82 inspired me to be very gay and produce a list of my Hot 25 Women. This year I'm a little less ambitious and am just going with a top 10. The top 10 was kind of hard to assemble. Once I got to about the top seven, I had a hard time narrowing down. I didn't want to leave anyone off the list but it couldn't be helped. And, really, this is pretty damn solid and, aside from the top four which is pretty solid, the rest of the list could be switched up and down depending on the day.
So let's take a few minutes to ogle some beautiful women, shall we?
10) Maya Rudolph
Totally hot, right? Rudolph is incredibly beautiful with the really awesome bonus of being a very talented actress and hilariously funny.
9) Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence is awesome. There's really no two ways about it. She's incredibly attractive. She can pull off blonde hair and brunette hair with serious panache. She's wildly talented. Her performance in Winter's Bone was gut wrenching and her Katniss was riveting enough to keep me in my seat despite the camera work of The Hunger Games making me seriously dizzy. But what really makes her awesome is how quirky and awkward she seems to be in real life. Check out her interviews with David Letterman for super fun examples.
8) Rachel Maddow
She doesn't fit into my usual type, but damn! This woman is fine! She's also a seriously talented writer and super smart. Every chapter in her book Drift blew me away (go check out my review!), not only for how thoroughly researched and thought out it was and how she managed to make really smart connections, but also with how effortless her style is and how her wit really can bring a point home.
7) Meryl Streep
I don't even care that she's only a year younger than my mom. Beauty and beauty and Meryl is hot. The thing about Meryl is that she ages. The woman doesn't look like she's thirty or forty. She maybe even looks older than fifty. But she wears her age so well that it's like, "I want to look like that at any age." It's the cheek bones, I swear. And the wildly awesome talent, too, I'm sure.
6) Sasha Alexander
Dr. Isles, be still my heart! You know how sometimes you like something and you can't really place your finger on what it is that you like about it? And you're just left saying, "Just check it out, man! Then you'll see!" That's kind of how I feel about Sasha Alexander. I don't exactly what it is. I just know that I really like whatever it may be.
5) Kate Winslet
I know, I know. So predictable. So what? I can be predictable, can't I? And quite frankly, if Kate Winslet wasn't do damn beautiful and talented, it wouldn't be predictable, would it? But she is. She so is so it is predictable. But sometimes things are predictable or cliche for all the right reasons.
4) Lucy Lawless
To offset the predictability of my last position, this should blow some minds. Because, while it's predictable for me to have Lucy on this list, she did take a three place drop from last year and that, in and of itself, could be surprising. But, still, the woman's still got it. She's a wildly popular character on Spartacus (I can't wait to catch up on the second season!) and she's a hardcore environmentalist. Several months ago she (and others) took over an oil ship. She faces a few years in jail if she's penalized to the maximum. I mean . . . c'mon. Beauty, brains, and involved. Hot!
3) Hope Solo
First of all, admire my restraint for not posting her nude pictures from ESPN Magazine's Body Issue. It took a lot of strength on my part. Hope's wild ascent up my list from last year is not surprising since, at this time last year, I had no idea who she was. Her radical and kickass performance at last year's Woman's World Cup catapulted her into my consciousness and I've since been stalking her games (with the now defunct WPS, her new team the Seattle Sounders Women, and the national team). Aside from being the best goalkeeper in the women's game ("Golden Glove, bitches," as Hope once tweeted), she's incredibly knowledgeable about the game and has great determination and perseverance. She's so hardcore, badass, and awesome.
2) Sara Ramirez
Holy Mary, Mother of God. Sara Ramirez is smokin' hot. I could honestly (and probably actually have) stare at her all day long. I can (and have) listen to her singing voice all day long because it is tremendous. I can (and have) watched her scenes on Grey's Anatomy on loop, because she's wonderfully funny and moving in the role of Callie. And I know that talking about her curves is totally overdone (and not as truthful anymore, because she's lost some weight), but it's so wonderful to see a body like hers get such praise. I kind of want to worship at her altar.
1) Jessica Capshaw
It was actually kind of difficult to decide between Jessica Capshaw and Sara Ramirez for the top spot on this list. I suppose today was a Jessica kind of day. Because everything I said about Sara? Can be said for Jessica and then some. Except, trade in the curves for the dimples because the dimples are . . . They just kind of make me sigh to myself and then wonder aloud, "How can anyone really be that beautiful?" Of course, beauty isn't everything, and Jessica Capshaw seems like a really great person off camera, too. She's wonderfully personable with her fans on Twitter and her interviews are typically fabulous. She's one of the more underrated actress on TV today, too and I, for one, am so excited for season 9 of Grey's Anatomy because they've set her up to have one hell of a story line and I have no doubts she'll give it everything she's got. She seems pretty much the person you'd worship in bed and then, after, cuddle with, talking about anything and everything. Girl's got game.
So there's my list! I wonder how it will change in the coming year?
I challenge anyone reading this to come up with your own because, frankly, what's more fun than taking a little indulgence and looking and at pictures of pretty women? At this point in the summer, I'm not sure I can think of anything that sounds better. Get to it, flist!
