Jour deux.
Day 6: Your Day
Let's see. What did I do today? I got up a little before nine, took a shower, updated the podcasts on my iPod, and tried to take my dog for a walk. Around 1:00, I went with Violet and my mom to run some errands. We drove to Webberville to get Violet's dog food, made a stop at Soldan's to get some more crap bags for her, and stopped at Noodles to get some lunch.
Soon after, Sharon and I went to get the Christmas tree. We now have a too-tall Frasier Fur in our living room, scratching the ceiling.
I walked Violet a few times, watched Thursday's episode of Watch Now with Andy Cohen and Friday's episode of Oprah. Then Violet and I got back in the car with my mom and went to Meijer to look for tree lights (they didn't have any), went to Eastwood for a bit so my mom could exchange a video game gift, and then we went to Tasty Twist. I got a Twister.
Now I'm sitting on the couch with my dog and we're watching Holiday Inn starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire.
Day 7: Your Best Friend
Rachel! Whoo! The Beej! And she's, like, a thousand miles away (or so) and it bums me out. Never here to go to Peanut Barrel or smoke some cigarillos in the back alley. Too busy living a cool life in DC with an actual job.
For shame, Beej.
Day 8: A Moment
Does this mean describe a moment? Like, an important moment?
Oy.
There's a moment, sometimes, when it's night and I wake up having to use the bathroom. After I go and am ready to return to my room, I get irrationally afraid that some kind of monster will emerge from the toilet after I've flushed, so I get as far away from the toilet as I can while still being able to reach the flusher. When I push it down, I already have a bit of a headstart and I race back to my room and jump onto the bed, just in case there's someone/something underneath that could grab my ankles and feet.
That always happens in a moment.
Day 9: Your Beliefs
Does this mean religious beliefs? I don't believe in god. I think I veer towards a kind of atheistic Hinduism, in a sense, because what I've been getting out of my readings on Hinduism is that, ultimately, we are the gods and we are the creators. They live within us. I don't believe in gods but . . . It makes sense to me that we are, in a sense, gods.
I also believe in a kind of universal cycle based on nature. It's probably why history makes so much sense to me as being a good field of study.
Day 10: What You Wore Today
I wore a pair of underwear, a pair of long underwear, a pair of jeans, and my Wellesley '08 t-shirt, which I slept in. I knew I wouldn't be seeing anyone but my mom and dog today, so I didn't bother putting on a bra or a fresh shirt. When I went out, I just wore my coat.
I'm still wearing that shirt but have changed out of the long underwear (it was nearly 40 today) and now have on a pair of pajama pants, blue, that have little Scotty dogs on them
