Color me surprised! Before I watched Deadlocked last night, I was under the impression that I didn't like it very much. But as I was watching it this time around I was actually pretty taken with the story and kind of got a little misty eyed there at the end. Who knew? This is exactly why I love this project. Going back and watching the episodes and

I will maintain until I'm blue in the face that Tyrol's vote in this episode is a plot device and not consistent with his character.
I agree with that. I don't see where it comes from.
The scene between Caprica and Laura is hilarious and awkward and also kind of sweet. This is Laura trying to a) show that's she's trying to be supportive of and friendly towards the cylons now, and b) bond a tiny bit with her lover's best friend's girlfriend, and it doesn't really work because Caprica just looks slightly terrified and then Laura puts her foot in her mouth and Caprica takes it the wrong way and it's all just a bit of a mess. But I found it quite endearing that Laura even tried, considering her previous attitude.
You think Saul is so stuck on the name Liam because it's a short version of William, meaning he's naming his son after Bill?
Drunk!Adama, by this point, was getting tiring. Once or twice is fine, but the last few episodes of the show, Bill always seemed to be either drunk and flailing and angry, or brushing his teeth. It was only really in his sweet moments with Laura that you could see the Bill I really love.
Do you think we were supposed to take away from Caprica's miscarriage that love actually was the reason the cylons couldn't procreate, or what?
No, giving Baltar and his nymph squad guns makes no sense whatsoever. And is never followed up on either. What was the point? Other than to make us all go "Jeez, things really are getting weird around here".

About the miscarriage- I think love is supposed to play into it, yeah. I think that it's likely Caprica became pregnant because Tigh was imaging Ellen in her place and his love for Ellen transferred to Caprica by default. And when Caprica started to doubt Tigh's love for her and the baby, that's what preventing the pregnancy from going forward.
I don't like the idea that love is needed for cylon pregnancies because it's so . . . Lame? Not at all realistic? Because even though they're machines and should be able to quanitfy things, quantify love? Not going to happen. But I do think the show's intent is to make it about love.
