Blood On The Scales

My dog is staring at me. It's in the low 90s here today so I haven't been too interested in taking her out. We've gone up and down the block a few times which adds up to a little over a mile but she keeps going to the door and I keep trying to let her out (we stick her leash in the door so that she can't get away) and then she refuses to move. And ( Read more... )

#8 - What is it with Baltar and his amazing ability to constantly ride out every crisis by finding someone to have sex with? How does he do that?

I love that he's finally decided to take responsibility for someone, though. It's a huge change in his character.

#9 - I doubt I even need to say that I adore both of those scenes. Adore them SO much.

Zarek is the biggest dumbass in the world. What possessed him to do that? I love the way she just rises up, slowly, like she's absolutely filling with rage, and then lets rip.

Gotta say, while I'm on the subject of Laura, I adore her little scenes with Leoben here. I find it fascinating that Leoben doesn't really seem to hold any grudge against her for the airlock thing, and just gets on and helps her find a way to address the fleet. And I love the continuity of Laura' being completely hopeless with technology. There's something so cool and so real about the idea of a sci-fi show where one of the main characters hasn't a clue about anything technological and is befuddled by a tape recorder, of all things.

#10 - that scene, with Adama leading his posse through the corridors of Galactica towards CIC with more and more people joining them, whilst Laura's voice echoes around them, demanding surrender? Sends shivers down my spine. It is, completely, God, and all Her avenging angels coming for Felix Gaeta and Tom Zarek. It's one of my favourite scenes of the episode.

#12 - completely perfect. And so very them.

#14 - the looks on their faces right before the shot is fired. Gets me. Even though Zarek, by this point, is at the top of my shit list, and Gaeta is not that far behind, there's something about the way that they look at each other that almost makes me tear up.

I love this show.

8) He's super lucky?

9) Out of all the cylons, I think Leoben would get over a thing like airlocking the quickest. Something like that would roll right off him. I do think his flobotnum box is really funny. "I knew this box would work." How convenient!

14) I agree. I want to hate them both but I can't (even though I do.) Zarek looks at him like, "Well, we gave it our best shot." And that's such an interesting response. No lofty speeches, no clamoring for martyrdom. He goes out quietly, which is such an interesting choice for that character.

I think Leoben is just one of those people who likes to look like he knows everything.

"I knew this box would work"

"Yeah, but Leoben, we just tried twenty seven other boxes before that one".

"Yes, but I knew this one would work. I foresaw it."

"Riiiiiight"
