Alternative high school

I'm considering a job at an alternative high school that seeks to help students with complex life circumstances to recover credits and graduate. Please click below and read on...

As I understand it, students complete their work on the computer. My job title would be teacher but I don't think in the traditional sense. I would not be lesson planning, grading, or any sort of direct teach. I would be there to assist the students with the computer lessons and if content area questions come up, explain.

Students would stream in and out of my classroom. There's about twenty. There is no bell schedule.

Has anyone worked in this kind of job environment? Could anyone suggest some classroom management tips? Some ideas to motivate students? I understand there is a school wide cell phone restriction policy in place but students are allowed to listen to music. I find that sort of challenging because I don't like it when students blast their music. It's distracting to others.
