This summer I worked at summer camp for teenagers with autism. It was a really great camp and the campers had a lot of amazing opportunities and fun ways to spend their summer. We did activities like horseback riding, bowling, pottery, swimming, and going to museums, among other things. Our campers ranged from age 12-18 and had a great summer while boosting their self esteem.
September 27 there will be a 5k run/walk in Louisville called "Outrunning Autism" and is through F.E.A.T., the organization that runs our camp. The money raised will be used to continue our camp next year as well as other activities to help the kids have a lot of fun and gain self confidence in themselves!
My goal is $500 and it seemed like a pretty lofty goal, cause I'm nowhere NEAR close enough to it as I'd like to be! I know it's short notice, but if you could donate just a little it'd be a huge help!
I have a Paypal account set up under
featautismwalk@yahoo.com if you would like to donate, or if you would prefer to send anything through the mail, please contact me and we'll work it out! Thanks again!
