Common words used in the classroom
As a teacher, what words do you find that you use the most often or that you could not do with out. I am asking specifically with intent to create a short list of words that would be good for a teacher who has students who speak little or no English in the class to know in the child's native language.
Example: yes, no, correct, wrong...etc.
Obviously these are not enough for fluent communication, but you can get some basics across even if there is no other way to communicate (no common language, no interpreter, etc).
I would like the words in English please. Don't worry about the translation into any other language unless you want to for other community member's benifit.
If you're curious, I'm planning on using this list specifically for teachers of the Deaf, words they should know how to sign. But I think such a list will be interesting and important to all teachers that have students who are not fluent English speakers.
