Being Thankful

Nov 12, 2006 13:15

I've been very absent from LiveJournal the past few months. Mostly because I've had so much going on (some good, some very difficult) and I didn't want to sound whiny or needy. Because of what is going on, I think it's very important that I acknowledge everyone and everything I am thankful for. Most of you on my LJ will have no idea what I'm referring to and that can be annoying, but I have others who although not LJ users check to see if I've updated my little blog.

I'm very thankful for the man who has become my best friend....thanks for supporting me, comforting me and being an all around awesome person. You didn't have to do these things (and many others wouldn't have), but you did.
2.) My brother: We've been through a lot, but our relationship is stronger now than it has ever been. I hope it grows stronger and closer.
3.) My grandmother: We might disagree on things, but you have been sooo supportive. You've shown me that family sticks together no matter what and that love can truly be unconditional.
4.) My friends: You know who you are and you know that I have been neglecting all of you terribly. It's been difficult seeing some friendships wither, but to those of you who supported me (even if you didn't completely understand) I can't begin to thank you enough. You are friends I don't deserve and I'm not sure I can ever repay your constancy. Really, I can't say enough about you.
5.) Dad: I'm thankful because you've shown me that life goes on. And as the old saying goes, "When one door closes, another one opens."
6.) Work: I know, I can't believe I'm adding them to my list. I work in a place where you put up with my critiques and are giving me the opportunity to go back to school and to help others in the field.
7.) Finally, and this will be cheesy...sorry. I'm actually thankful for the events of this year. I've been challenged as a person and I know that my spirit has grown because of it. The lessons I have learned about forgiveness, while unwanted, have made me a better person. As I continue to deal with issues and try to overcome obstacles I am learning the positive side of being naturally stubborn-that persistence does and will pay off.

thankfulness, friends, family
