Even though I'm in a very technological school district, for some reason we are not allowed to have students blog. I teach 3rd grade, and our students do a LOT of work through MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Publisher mainly). We also do some stuff with Inspiration and ActiveStudio. I really wanted to have my kids write their work in reading in a blog (their reflections/journals, etc.) and I proposed to my principal that we use Kidblog, since it's totally locked. She said no way, it's not allowed district-wide to have students blog, although they are "looking into blogging" sometime.
So, any alternatives other than having them use a word document. I'd really like to be able to access their work from both home and work, and for there to be a way for me to write comments on their writing quickly and obviously.
I still cannot believe it's not allowed.
