Condo Remodel... please.

Now that the wedding is over... on with the next project!

Brad bought the condo we are living in when we first started dating.  It's slightly under 1,000 square feet (eek!) and has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, laundry room and balcony complete with underground parking for two people and a storage unit in the basement.  The condo itself is quite far from anything I would consider as "my style" but it is in a fab location and he bought at a price that even I couldn't believe so we lucked out on that (we're sure to make a huge profit when we do decide to sell).  We both know we want to continue to live in the current neighborhood we're in right now, which for you fellow Seattle-ites is in the Admiral District of West Seattle.  We LOVE it here!  Therefore, we also know we'll be paying out the nose for a home.  So, we'll probably be in this condo for another year to perhaps two years.  And what does that mean?  REMODEL TIME!

Our first major project will be the kitchen but I'm also starting on the full bath.  We're also upgrading all of our furniture over the next several months and we're going to start shopping around this weekend.  But, I have been collecting lots of ideas (planning a wedding sure helped me get ready for this task)...

I have saved the following picture for forever as a potential "color scheme" for the kitchen.  I would only want the red as an accent (perhaps backsplash?) and I'd want the yellow a bit more mellow:

Here is my favorite photo thus far of an overall kitchen "look" and layout.  By the way, we're going to go with lighter cabinets to try to "open up" our kitchen space.  There is no window in our kitchen so darker woods are not an option for us I don't think...

Love the "peek-a-boo" cabinets at the top here:

Here are some different cabinet features I love... but I'm not sure if we'll do custom cabinetry or not.  We're still weighing our options!  ;o)

I've always loved Wolf stove tops and they even have red knobs!  Hello... that's my accent color!  :o)  Will we get one though?  My guess... no.

Finally, as far as the kitchen goes... I'm loving these chairs!!!

Now, as far as the other rooms go... I have some ideas for "freshening up" our laundry room:

For my bathroom (only in a very pale sage color) and the chandelier thing is probably a pipe dream since it would probably not give off the best lighting for makeup application and whatnot:

Our Master bathroom (with stand up shower):

When it comes to our bedroom... we received this monogrammed bedding as a wedding gift and will likely make sure our paint and other color choices keep this bedding in mind:

And, we have this recessed area in our room that has two windows that have an A-MAZING view of the city and I have always thought it would be a great place for a built in reading nook:

This set up is EXACTLY how our living room is set up!  Windows, fireplace... everything (ours just isn't as modern or as lovely as this photo).  We'd like to get a couch-type set up like this to maximize the windows and the fabulous views they offer:

At the end of the above couch, we'd like to have a bar or hutch.  The door to our balcony would then be to the right of that.

Lastly, I am in love with this rug and this lamp... particularly the rug though!!!

So, even though this all is going to take some time.  A lot of time.  I am hoping we can get our hind quarters in gear and soon!  We aren't going to seriously tackle the kitchen remodel until the tail end of Winter, early Spring.  But, until then we'll probably be purchasing furniture, painting and reorganizing.  What a HUGE undertaking!!!  Ack! And, this is without even thinking about the second bedroom yet (which we're thinking will be an office complete with Murphy bed). What do you ladies think?
